Missi (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Thunder. Missi will end up missing the final three games of the regular season due to left ankle soreness, though that could also be the wear-and-tear of his first season in the NBA. Missi had a successful season as a rookie, emerging as a reliable option at center and improving drastically as the season progressed. Missi averaged 9.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 blocks per game across 73 appearances (67 starts) as a rookie.... See More ... See Less

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Remains out Friday
Missi (ankle) will not play Friday against the Heat. Missi is set to miss his second consecutive game due to left ankle soreness. In his absence, Karlo Matkovic should see a heightened role Friday. Missi will have one more opportunity to play this season, as the Pelicans conclude their regular season Sunday against the Thunder.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Questionable for Thursday
Missi is questionable for Thursday's game against the Bucks due to left ankle soreness. Thursday's game is the front end of a back-to-back set. Presumably, Missi could be held out for maintenance in one of these games. Kelly Olynyk is resting Thursday, so it's more likely that a maintenance day for Missi would occur Friday.... See More ... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Posts another double-double
Missi ended with 18 points (9-13 FG, 0-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Bucks. Missi grabbed double-digit boards for the fifth straight game, a span in which he's recorded three double-doubles, and the rookie continues to deliver solid value in the final stages of the regular season. Arguably one of the most surprising -- and productive -- first-year players in the 2024-25 campaign, Missi is ending the campaign on a hot streak with averages of 11.2 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game over his last 10 starts dating back to March 11.... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Grabs 12 rebounds in loss
Missi contributed six points (3-8 FG), 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks across 27 minutes during Wednesday's 114-98 loss to the Clippers. Missi was able to keep up with Ivica Zubac despite the lopsided loss, and he registered numbers in every major statistical category. Along with his proficiency off the glass, he registered three blocked shots and tied a season high with four assists. The rookie has carved out a nice role for himself during his first season and should be considered a front-runner for a starting role in the 2025-26 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Iffy for Monday
Missi (hip) is questionable for Monday's game against the 76ers. Missi is in danger of missing a second straight game due to right hip soreness. If he's sidelined again, Karlo Matkovic will likely start at center.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Won't play Sunday
Missi (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Pistons. Missi and Zion Williamson (back) have been downgraded from questionable to out for the first half of the Pelicans' current back-to-back set. Karlo Matkovic should start at center, but Bruce Brown, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Jordan Hawkins are also candidates for increased roles against Detroit. Missi's next chance to suit up will come Monday against the 76ers.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Iffy for Sunday
Missi is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Pistons due to right hip soreness. Missi has played in New Orleans' last three contests but could miss the first leg of the team's back-to-back Sunday due to a hip injury. If the rookie big man is forced to sit out, Karlo Matkovic could receive increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Strong showing in win
Missi finished with 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks over 26 minutes during Wednesday's 119-115 victory over Minnesota. Zion Williamson led the way for the Pelicans in this contest, but there's no question Missi made his presence felt as well, which was no easy feat considering he had to deal with the threat of Rudy Gobert during the entire contest. Missi ended just three boards shy of recording what would've been his fourth double-double since the All-Star break, and he's also scored at a solid rate with double-digit points in five of his last six contests.... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Iffy to play Monday
Missi (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Pistons. Missi has missed the last two games due to a left ankle sprain, but he has a chance to return Monday. He has averaged 10.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 blocks over 26.5 minutes per game since the All-Star break. Karlo Matkovic would continue to see an increased workload if Missi is ruled out for Monday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Questionable to face San Antonio
Missi (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Spurs. Missi is in jeopardy of missing his second consecutive contest due to the left ankle sprain that he sustained during Tuesday's win over the Clippers. The rookie big man was able to return during Tuesday's game, though he sat out Thursday's loss to Orlando. If Missi remains on the shelf, Karlo Matkovic and Mo Bamba are candidates for an uptick in playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Won't play against Orlando
Missi (ankle) is out for Thursday's game versus the Magic. Missi has been downgraded from questionable to out Thursday due to a left ankle sprain. Karlo Matkovic and Mo Bamba are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Missi's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with San Antonio.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Iffy for Thursday
Missi has been listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Magic due to a left ankle sprain. Missi has missed only three games this season, but his status will need to be monitored leading up to Thursday's contest. If the 20-year-old rookie is ruled out against Orlando, the team will likely turn to Karlo Matkovic and Mo Bamba to pick up the slack in the frontcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Nearly double-doubles
Missi supplied nine points (3-6 FG, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 127-120 win over the Clippers. Missi limped back to the locker room with 2:59 remaining in the first quarter due to an apparent ankle injury, but he returned to the game midway through the second quarter. Missi's fantasy production has left a lot to be desired in recent weeks, as he's averaging 10.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks in 26.8 minutes over his last 10 games.... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Scores 10 points in loss
Missi supplied 10 points (3-5 FG, 4-6 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 28 minutes during Thursday's 109-97 loss to Houston. Although he's averaging 24.8 minutes per game over his last 10 outings, Missi's production has left a lot to be desired. In that stretch, Missi has been well outside the top-200 in nine-category formats, averaging 8.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocks on 51.3 percent shooting from the field.... See More ... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Goes for 24 points Friday
Missi finished Friday's 125-108 loss to the Suns with 24 points (11-14 FG, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block over 26 minutes. Missi has been one of the most productive and consistent rookies in the 2024-25 NBA season, and the former Baylor standout recorded double-digit points for the third game in a row. He's been averaging 9.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game since the beginning of February, and it seems he has locked down the starting role at center for the rest of the campaign as the Pelicans attempt to make a late push for a Play-In berth.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Logs double-double in win
Missi registered 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 109-103 win over the Spurs. Missi recorded his first double-double since Jan. 3, marking his ninth such outing of the season. Additionally, the rookie big man recorded a block and a steal for the 20th time across 55 regular-season matchups. Missi has logged double-digit rebounds in each of his last three appearances, though he has scored in double figures in only two of his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Pulls down career-high 15 boards
Missi closed with six points (3-9 FG, 0-2 FT), 15 rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes during Sunday's 114-96 win over San Antonio. The 15 boards were a career high for the rookie center, marking the fourth time in the last nine games he's reached double digits in that category. None of those performances resulted in double-doubles, however, as Missi's offense remains a work in progress -- over those nine contests, he's averaging just 6.8 points while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor.... Pelicans' Yves Missi: Swats four shots in return
Missi (knee) recorded six points (3-8 FG), 10 rebounds, four blocks and one assist across 24 minutes in Friday's 111-103 loss to the Mavericks. After hyperextending his right knee in the Pelicans' final game before the All-Star break on Feb. 13 versus the Kings, Missi was forced to withdraw from taking part in the Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. The week-long break provided Missi with sufficient time to heal from the knee injury, and he was back in action Friday as New Orleans kicked off its second-half schedule. The rookie made his mark on the defensive end, recording at least four blocks for the fifth time in 53 games.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Yves Missi: Good to go against Dallas
Missi (knee) is listed as available for Friday's game versus the Mavericks. Missi is set to play Friday despite suffering a right knee hyperextension in New Orlean's final outing before the All-Star break. The rookie center averages 6.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 26.8 minutes across his previous 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less

Scott Kushner@ScottDKushner12/31/1969I’m not blaming them for lottery luck, but I’ve never been this down on the future of the Pelicans. This team badly needs something to galvanize its handful of remaining supporters. A new arena. A big trade. A big-name coach. Something. Anything. Joe Dumars ain’t it.
