The veteran third baseman has hit well overall so far in 2025, though, slashing .278/.316/.522 with six homers, 15 RBI and 12 runs over 95 plate appearances.

Braves' Austin Riley: Goes deep in loss
Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Phillies on Wednesday.
Riley accounted for Atlanta's only extra-base hit of the contest with his solo shot to left field in the seventh inning. The 417-foot homer tied the score at 3-3, but Philadelphia ultimately pulled out the win on the strength of a Trea Turner ninth-inning long ball. Riley's home run was his first since Opening Day, but he seems to be heating up after a tepid start to the campaign, as he's collected three multi-hit performances and racked up four RBI over his past four games.

Braves' Austin Riley: Moved down to five spot
Riley will start at third base and bat fifth in Friday's game against the Marlins.
Riley batted second in the first six games of the season and hit third in the seventh contest, so this is the lowest he's hit thus far in 2025. The 28-year-old is just 3-for-27 with an 11:2 K:BB in the early going. Ozzie Albies is batting second Friday, which is the first time he's hit higher than fifth against a righty this season.

Braves' Austin Riley: Goes deep on Opening Day
Riley went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Padres.
Hitting second in the Atlanta order, Riley took Alek Jacob deep in the fourth inning on a changeup that stayed up and over the heart of the plate. The 27-year-old third baseman dealt with injuries last season for the first time since his breakout 2021 campaign, but if Riley can stay healthy in 2025 he should be able to return to his usual 30-homer, 90-RBI ways.
