Houser allowed two runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Blue Jays. He struck out four.
Houser continues to impress early in his tenure with the White Sox. The right-hander has yet to allow more than three runs in a start while delivering a quality start in five of his first six outings. Houser's ERA sits at 2.27 through his first 35.2 innings with a 1.26 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB. Houser is tentatively scheduled to face the Giants at home in his next outing.

White Sox's Adrian Houser: Reinstated for Sunday's start
Houser (personal) was activated from the paternity list and will start Sunday against the Blue Jays.
The right-hander landed on the paternity list Thursday while he welcomed a new addition to his family, but he's back with Chicago to make his next turn through the rotation. Houser has pitched well through his first five MLB starts of 2025 with a 2.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB across 29.1 innings.

Houser (2-2) took the loss Friday against the Rangers, giving up three runs on six hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out two.
Houser entered Friday on a four-game streak of quality starts, but he came one inning short of extending that stretch. The 32-year-old right-hander issued a season-high four walks, but his results since joining Chicago's rotation have certainly been impressive. Houser sports a 2.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB through his first 29.1 innings, which gives him some streaming appeal in his next scheduled outing versus a Cardinals club with a .646 OPS against righties over their last 21 games.

White Sox's Adrian Houser: Extends streak of quality starts
Houser (2-1) earned the win over Kansas City on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out six batters over six innings.
Houser gave up a second-inning solo homer to Vinnie Pasquantino but didn't allow any other runs or extra-base hits. The right-handed hurler tied his season high with six punchouts -- a mark he's tallied in each of his past three outings -- and has now notched a quality start in each of first four appearances this season. Houser hasn't finished a campaign with an ERA below 4.12 or a WHIP under 1.39 since 2021, so fantasy managers are justified in being skeptical about the red-hot start to his White Sox tenure. That being said, Houser now holds a sparkling 1.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with a 20:6 K:BB through 24.1 innings, so he's becoming hard to ignore on waiver wires.

Houser (1-1) took the loss Sunday against the Orioles, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out six.
While Houser saw his season-opening scoreless streak end at 14 innings, the right-hander did deliver a third straight quality start in the eventual 3-2 defeat. Through his first 18.1 innings with the White Sox, Houser has posted a 1.47 ERA with a 0.98 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB, solidifying his spot in the rotation. White Sox's Adrian Houser: Unscored upon through two starts
Houser logged a no-decision against the Mets on Monday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out six batters over six-plus innings.
The Mets appeared mystified against Houser throughout most of Monday's matchup, as they managed to put just two runners on base over the first six innings. The veteran right-hander bent a bit in the seventh, allowing the first two New York batters to reach base, and was subsequently pulled; however, Chicago's bullpen was able to strand both runners to keep Houser unscored upon through two starts covering 12 frames with the team. It's been an improbable beginning to Houser's White Sox tenure, as he hasn't finished with an ERA below 4.12 in the majors since 2021 and was stuck in the Rangers' minor-league system to begin this year until being released May 15. He's earned a continued spot in Chicago's rotation and is tentatively scheduled to face Baltimore his next time out.

White Sox's Adrian Houser: Blanks Mariners in 2025 debut
Houser (1-0) earned the win over the Mariners on Tuesday after throwing six scoreless innings, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out two.
Houser impressed with six scoreless innings after he was just signed by the White Sox earlier in the day. The Mariners had a baserunner in all but one inning, but Houser was able to navigate around the traffic with a bunch of soft contact. He worked up to 90 pitches in the outing and lines up for a tough road test versus the Mets to begin next week.

The White Sox signed Houser to a one-year, $1.35 million contract Tuesday.
Houser requested and was granted his release from a minor-league contract with the Rangers last week so that he could link up with the White Sox on a big-league deal. Houser was granted his release by the Rangers on Thursday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Houser signed a minor-league deal with the Rangers this winter and was having some success with Triple-A Round Rock, most notably maintaining a 1.15 WHIP with 37 strikeouts across 39.1 innings. Texas would reportedly like to re-sign him, though he may have another opportunity around the league lined up.

Houser signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
After posting a career-worst 5.84 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 69.1 innings, Houser was cut by the Mets in late July. He spent time with the Orioles' and Cubs' Triple-A affiliates to finish off the regular season and will now head to Texas on his third minor-league contract in four months. Houser agreed to a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Houser was released by the Mets in late July, but he caught on with the Cubs on Aug. 7 on a minor-league deal, only to be cut less than a month later. Now with his third organization of the season, Houser should provide starting depth for the Orioles at Triple-A Norfolk, but his lack of a 40-man roster spot could be an obstacle in getting another big-league opportunity in 2024.

Houser will head to free agency after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment last weekend. The right-hander opened the season in the Mets' rotation, posting an 8.55 ERA over seven starts before he was permanently moved him to the bullpen in late May. Houser turned in a 3.28 ERA over 35.2 innings as a reliever, but he didn't notice much of a bump in his strikeout rate (16.8 percent) and had mostly underwhelming underlying statistics. He'll look to catch on elsewhere as organizational starting pitching depth and may have to settle for a minor-league contract.

Houser looked like a reasonable addition to the back end of the Mets rotation when they traded for him over the offseason. The gambit didn't work out, however, with the 31-year-old holding an 8.55 ERA and 20:21 K:BB over 33.2 innings in seven starts. He posted a 3.28 ERA while working out of the bullpen but had allowed nine runs over nine innings this month. Houser will almost certainly clear waivers, given his $5.05 million salary. He'll likely elect free agency once he clears waivers and will pursue an opportunity with another organization.

Mets' Adrian Houser: Stuck with loss Thursday
Houser (1-5) took the loss Thursday against the Nationals, striking out two and giving up a solo home run in an inning of relief.
The Mets managed only one hit on the day, but Jose Quintana kept the game scoreless through seven innings. Houser took the mound for the eighth and served up a one-out blast to Jesse Winker, and that was all the offense the Nats needed. It was the first long ball Houser had allowed in 23.2 innings since being shifted to the bullpen in late May, and the 31-year-old right-hander has been mostly effective in relief, posting a 1.52 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB during that stretch.

Houser picked up a save in the Mets' 12-2 win over the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out three batters over three scoreless innings.
Houser entered with the Mets holding an eight-run lead and cruised the remainder of the way to notch the first save of his career. It was far from a dominant performance, but Houser was able to protect an 8-5 lead after taking the ball from Tylor Megill to begin the sixth inning. Houser has adjusted well to a long-relief role so far, allowing two earned runs in 12.1 innings over five appearances, but his 5:7 K:BB suggests his luck won't last. Monday's hold was just the second of his career, with the other coming back in 2019 when he filled a similar swingman role with the Brewers.

Mets' Adrian Houser: Returning to bullpen
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Houser will be available out of the bullpen for Sunday's game against the Giants, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Houser returned to the rotation Tuesday against the Guardians but put up another dud with six runs allowed over five innings. He'll lose his starting spot during the upcoming week, as the Mets will bring David Peterson (hip) back from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday versus the Dodgers.
