Busch went 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies.

Busch continues his strong first season with the Cubs, and he's now recorded a hit in eight of his last 10 games. Overall, the first baseman is slashing .262/.359/.448. Busch is also batting a solid .303 against lefties, though the Cubs have been generally limiting his exposure to southpaws. Even if Busch sees some days off here and there due to matchups, he's still looking like a decent fantasy option the rest of the year.

Mountcastle (illness) will serve as Baltimore's designated hitter and bat fourth Wednesday against the Mariners, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After missing two games while fighting off an illness, Mountcastle will now return to the starting nine against Logan Gilbert and the M's. Mountcastle had gone 4-for-17 with an RBI and a run scored in his last five games before getting sick.

Canha isn't in the Tigers' lineup Wednesday against the Twins, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Canha will get a day to regroup Wednesday after going 0-for-22 in his last six games. His absence will move Gio Urshela to first base while Matt Vierling (foot) covers third, opening up a spot in left field for Akil Baddoo.

Wade is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Wade has gone 3-for-13 with a double and a solo homer in three games since returning from the injured list, but he will take a seat for Wednesday's contest as southpaw Chris Sale starts for Atlanta. David Villar will man first base and bat sixth for the Giants.

Singleton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Toronto, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Singleton had started in four straight games at first base, but he'll yield to Grae Kessinger on Wednesday. Since Jose Abreu was released June 14, Singleton is batting .324 with a homer, four runs scored and four RBI.

Rice is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Reds.

With southpaw Andrew Abbott on the hill for the Reds, the Yankees are going with right-handed-hitting J.D. Davis at first base. The left-handed-hitting Rice has now started one of four games versus lefties since Davis was acquired.

Wade went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Atlanta.

Wade has gone 3-for-13 (.231) with two walks over three games since he returned from missing a month with a hamstring injury. The 30-year-old had been hitting atop the order prior to the injury, but the Giants have had him in the No. 2 spot due to Jorge Soler serving at leadoff recently. Wade has just three homers over 55 games this year, but he's maintained a .324/.459/.437 slash line with 18 RBI, 24 runs scored and a stolen base. His 19.8 percent walk rate has helped to keep his ratios strong even if he's lacking in counting stats.

Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Guardians.

Vaughn got the scoring going with a home run in the first inning, his 11th of the season and second in as many matchups. He also extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 7-for-16 with five RBI and six runs scored. The recent stretch has also brought Vaughn's OPS to .701, its highest mark at any point this season.

Lowe went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-0 win over San Diego.

It was Lowe bobblehead night at Globe Life Field, and the 2023 Gold Glove winner at first base showed off his bat. He hit two-run homers in each of his first two plate appearances. Lowe's swing has found a groove of late, as he's 10-for-25 with four home runs and 12 RBI over the last six games.

Alonso went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Nationals in 10 innings.

Alonso capped off the Mets' five-run 10th inning with a two-run blast off Robert Garcia, the first baseman's 18th home run of the campaign. He's riding a six-game hit streak, batting 8-for-24 (.333) with six runs and five RBI during that span. Alonso owns an .810 OPS with a 20.3 percent strikeout rate on the season, and the former is actually the lowest figure of his career in that category.
