Swanson went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 5-2 win against the Marlins. The Chicago shortstop opened the game's scoring when he popped a 400-foot, two-run homer off Miami starter Cal Quantrill in the fifth. Swanson has been scorching hot lately, batting .422 (19-for-45) with five homers, 12 runs scored and nine RBI across his last 13 games. Overall, the 31-year-old is slashing .248/.303/.472 with 29 runs scored, 24 RBI and four steals over 176 plate appearances.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Goes deep in victory

Swanson went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in a 6-5 win against the Mets on Saturday. Swanson plated a run on an infield single in the first inning and added a solo shot to left-center field in the fourth. The veteran shortstop has reached base safely in 11 consecutive contests, batting .421 (16-for-38) with four homers, 11 runs and seven RBI over that stretch. Swanson was hitting below the Mendoza Line as recently as April 29, but the hot stretch has pushed his season slash line to .240/.298/.455 with eight home runs, 22 RBI, 28 runs and four stolen bases through 40 games.

The Chicago shortstop extended his hitting streak to eight games, during which time he's gone 14-for-30 with three home runs, five RBI and 10 runs scored. Swanson was batting just .181 with a .577 OPS before the recent hot streak, but he's now got more respectable .240 and .732 figures, respectively.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Goes deep in win

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two total runs scored in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Pirates. Some early-season struggles pushed Swanson down in the batting order recently, but he's responded well to the move. Over his last three games, the shortstop has gone 6-for-11 with two home runs. For the year, Swanson is now batting .213 with six long balls, and he seems to be snapping out of his slump.

Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-0 win over the Pirates. Swanson entered the game 0-for-9 over his last two contests and batting just .181 overall, but he responded to a move down to the No. 8 spot in the order with his fifth home run of the season. The shortstop should maintain his regular role despite the early struggles, and he has the talent to get things going in a hurry.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Dropped to eighth in lineup

Swanson is batting eighth for Tuesday's game against the Pirates. Over the last seven days, Swanson is slashing .200/.273/.350 with two extra-base hits and eight strikeouts. With Swanson moving down the order, Carson Kelly is moving up and batting cleanup against lefty Andrew Heaney.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Triples, steals base in win

Swanson went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple, two runs scored, a stolen base and a walk in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Dodgers. Swanson recorded a triple, his first of the campaign, in the first inning to tie the game at 3-3. The veteran shortstop is still off to a slow start in 2025, slashing .180/.231/.360 with four home runs, 13 RBI, 14 runs scored and three stolen bases in 25 games (100 at-bats). However, Swanson entered Tuesday's action with a strong 52.9 percent hard-hit rate and 30.1 percent squared-up rate, per Statcast, so fantasy managers have some reason for optimism moving ahead.

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Padres. Swanson has his power stroke working lately, as that's now three home runs over his last six games. The shortstop isn't doing much else at the plate, as he's only batting .233, though fantasy managers won't complain about the long balls. Swanson hit 16 home runs last year, and he could fly past that number if he sustains his recent level of performance.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Hits first home run

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 10-6 loss to the Diamondbacks. The shortstop had 16 long balls a year ago, which snapped a three-season streak of hitting at least 20 home runs. If he stays healthy, Swanson should be able to make a run at the 20-homer plateau again in 2025.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Reaches twice, swipes bag in loss

Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 8-1 loss to the Diamondbacks. He also stole a base. Swanson is off to a decent start early in the season, as he now has a hit in three of Chicago's first four games, though he's still seeking his first multi-hit effort. The shortstop also recorded his first stolen base of 2025 on Friday. Swanson underwent core muscle surgery in October, but he returned in time for spring training and looks fully healthy to begin the year. He could be primed to once again reach double figures in steals and home runs, something he's done twice over the past three seasons.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Underwent core surgery

Swanson underwent surgery to address a core injury in early October, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports. The 30-year-old infielder slashed .242/.312/.390 with 16 homers, 66 RBI and 19 steals during his second season in Chicago and is expected to remain the Cubs' everyday shortstop next season.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Getting rare day off

Swanson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies. Swanson looks to be receiving some routine maintenance after he had been in the lineup for every game dating back to June 14, a stretch of 87 consecutive starts. Unless he's used off the bench, Swanson will put a five-game hitting streak on hold before likely returning to the starting nine Tuesday. Luis Vazquez will fill in for Swanson at shortstop on Monday.

The shortstop continued his strong finish to the season, as he's slashing .316/.366/.513 this month with four home runs, 11 RBI and 20 runs scored across 18 games. Swanson's overall stat line will still come in below his usual standards, but he's possibly building some momentum heading into 2025.

  • Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Big effort in Thursday's win

Swanson went 3-for-4 with four runs scored in Thursday's 7-6 win over the Nationals. The four runs in a game are easily a season high for Swanson, as his previous best was two runs, which he did on several occasions. The shortstop has been solid this month with a .319 batting average, three home runs, 10 RBI and 19 runs scored through 17 games. Swanson should continue to see regular playing time as the Cubs try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
