SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) Ryan Fulse had 38 carries for 218 yards and three touchdown and T.J. Linta passed for 167 yards and three scores to propel Wagner to a 52-36 victory over Bryant in Northeast Conference play on Saturday.
Fulse opened the scoring for the Seahawks (3-7, 2-3) with a 2-yard TD run and Eric Silvester added a 28-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Fulse stretched the lead 17-0 with a 3-yard TD run early in the second quarter. The Bulldogs (6-4, 2-4) answered with Brenden Femiano's 7-yard TD run to pull within 17-7. Wagner took a 24-7 lead on Linta's 38-yard scoring strike to D'E Wilson, but Bryant's Jean Constant took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a TD. The Seahawks took a 31-14 lead after Linta engineered a nine-play, 75-yard drive that he finished off with an 8-yard TD toss to Chris Woodard with 19 seconds left before halftime.
Bryant pulled within 10 points on its opening drive of the second half when wide receiver Tom Kennedy hit quarterback Broghean McGovern for a 6-yard score, but Linta answered with a 1-yard plunge to push the lead back to 17. Fulse secured the victory with a 53-yard TD run in the third quarter and a 28-yard TD reception from Linta in the fourth quarter.
Wagner piled up 431 yards of offense and held the Bulldogs, who dropped their third straight game, to 256.
