Analysis

Either by design, or perhaps necessity, there's some slow-ball being played at various CAA outposts this season. In Drexel's case, probably design, as HC Zach Spiker can't seem to shake his days at Army and a punishing style that resembles Bob Knight's snarling West Point sides from the 60s. Yet it's this sort of uncompromising defense that has fueled three straight Dragons wins, allowing a tick under 49 ppg in the process. and ranked top 30 nationwide in scoring defense. As for Pat Skerry's host Towson, maybe more by necessity, as the Tigers are barely hitting 28% beyond the arc, and off a 34% shooting display that was nonetheless good enough to see off Charleston 61-52 in the Baltimore suburbs last Thursday. Analysis

I like Yale in this spot at home. The Bulldogs don't play fast but they do a great job of getting easy baskets in transition. That's why Yale has so much success against teams like Cornell and Columbia that play fast but allow a lot of easy opportunities on the defensive end. Yale has scored at least 84 points against the Lions in each of the last five meetings and have won the last three at home by an average of 25 points. I like that trend to continue on Monday. Bet up to 9.5.

Analysis

Jaylon Tyson is in the midst of a breakout season for a Cavs team that has struggled to have the same success they had last year where they finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference. Injuries have beset the Cavs and Tyson has stepped up and is coming off his best career performance scoring 39 points and finishing 7/9 from three in his last appearance. While that was certainly impressive, this is a great sell high spot on Monday versus an elite Oklahoma City defense.

Analysis

Quick rematch here on MLK Day from last Wednesday's 119-105 Clippers cruise in Inglewood. There's one significant difference, as Kawhi Leonard, who poured in 33 points in last week's clash at the Intuit Dome, is slated to sit out one more game on this LA road trip to rest his knees, but the Clippers are so rampant right now that they won without Kawhi in OT at Toronto on Friday when James Harden scored 31, making it five wins on the spin and 12 of 14 for Ty Lue's bunch. Meanwhile, the Wiz limps back to Cap One after an 0-4 road trip and with a six-game losing streak, within single-digits just once, and Trae Young's Washington debut still weeks away. Play Clippers

Analysis

Indiana is not a team that beats itself. The Hoosiers lead the country in turnover margin (1.40 per game) and rank second in penalty yards per game (26.9). Meanwhile, the Hurricanes can be their own worst enemy. They average 57.1 penalty yards per game (84th in the nation) and are coming off a 10-penalty game in the CFP semifinal. And that doesn't include drops, turnovers and game management issues that we've seen with coach Mario Cristobal's squad. Miami needs to play a clean game against a disciplined Indiana team, and I don't know if the Hurricanes are capable of that. In addition, Miami's ailing cornerbacks looked vulnerable against the Rebels, and I fully expect Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza to take advantage if they're not healthy.
