Tommy Wingels: Announces retirement
Wingels announced his retirement following his second season with Geneve-Servette HC.
Wingels was drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks and went on to play 337 games for the club over seven seasons. The winger's NHL career also included stops in Ottawa, Chicago and Boston, where he racked up 62 goals, 81 helpers and 740 shots along the way. The Illinois native also added another eight points in 58 postseason contests but was never able to lift Lord Stanley's cup.

Tommy Wingels: Signs overseas
Wingels inked a one-year deal with Geneve-Servette (NLA) on Wednesday.
Last season, Wingels spent time with both the Blackhawks and Bruins. In 75 appearances between those clubs, he managed 17 points and dressed in four of Boston's playoff games, going pointless in the postseason. Wingels, 30, never appeared comfortable following his trade from the Sharks and unless he's able to put together a special season abroad, the chances of him returning to the NHL are slim at best.

Bruins' Tommy Wingels: In Game 3 lineup
Wingels will draw into the Bruins' lineup Wednesday against the Lightning, Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Per the report, Wingels will get the Game 3 nod over Tim Schaller due to his physicality and experience. While skating on the Bruins' fourth line, Wingels' fantasy upside is limited, with the 30-year-old winger coming off a regular season in which he tallied nine goals and 17 points in 75 games (57 with Chicago and 18 with Boston).

Bruins' Tommy Wingels: Returns to health
Wingels is now healthy enough to play after missing Saturday's playoff game against the Maple Leafs with an undisclosed injury.
That said, with Riley Nash (ear) in line to return to action Monday night against Toronto, it looks like Wingels will be a spare forward for Game 3, along with Ryan Donato and Brian Gionta.

Bruins' Tommy Wingels: Iffy for Game 2
Wingels (undisclosed) is considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs, Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports Boston reports. "Wingels is still being evaluated by doctors today," coach Bruce Cassidy noted Friday. "Tomorrow we'll get a better read on him...I wouldn't rule him out, but we'll see in the morning."
Wingels didn't practice Friday on the heels of being forced out of Thursday's win over Toronto after being checked from behind by Nazem Kadri. With Riley Nash (ear) still unable to practice fully, rookie Ryan Donato is poised to enter the Boston lineup Saturday if Wingels can't play.

Wingels was forced out of Thursday's 5-1 playoff win over the Maple Leafs in the third period after being checked from behind by Nazem Kadri. With Wingels hurting and Riley Nash (ear) iffy for Saturday's Game 2, veteran Brian Gionta or rookie Ryan Donato could re-enter the Bruins' forward mix in short order after being made healthy scratches Thursday.

Bruins' Tommy Wingels: Suffers injury in Game 1
Wingels exited Thursday's 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs due to an undisclosed injury.
Wingels suffered the injury when Toronto's Nazem Kadri hit him from behind while he was on his knees alongside the boards in the third period of Thursday's contest. Kadri received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for the hit, and will almost certainly be hearing from the NHL Department of Player Safety in the coming days. Wingels wasn't able to return to the contest, and coach Bruce Cassidy didn't have an update on the veteran winger's status during his post-game press conference. The severity of Wingels' injury has yet to be determined, but if he's unable to suit up for Saturday's Game 2, Ryan Donato or Brian Gionta will likely take his spot in the lineup.

Bruins' Tommy Wingels: Back in action Saturday
Wingels (hand) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Senators.
Wingels missed two games after suffering a hand injury, but it appears he's ready to roll with two games remaining before the postseason. Considering Wingels' playing time is limited with Boston -- just 11:54 per game -- and he doesn't see time on the power play, expectations for production should be limited as the season rounds out.

This means rookie Colby Cave will remain in the lineup. A Wingels absence isn't likely to shake up the fantasy world seeing as how he's only produced four points over 16 games since arriving in Boston following a trade from Chicago.

Wingels missed Tuesday night's 4-0 loss to the Lightning, but as coach Bruce Cassidy previously suggested, the forward's hand issue wasn't expected to be a lingering concern. Look for Wingels to return to action Thursday against the Panthers, with the Bruins no doubt looking to make some lineup adjustments in the wake of Tuesday's sub-par effort.
