Bruins' Daniel Winnik: Heading into camp on PTO
Winnik landed a professional tryout agreement with the Bruins, the club announced Monday.
Winnik logged 81 games for the Wild last season, in which he tallied six goals, 17 helpers and 82 shots, while averaging 13:34 of ice time. The veteran winger will likely have a hard time beating out youngsters Danton Heinen, Ryan Donato and Anders Bjork for a spot on the 23-man roster, but he might be able to add a level of grit and physicality the team is otherwise missing in the bottom six.

Wild's Daniel Winnik: Sneaky source of points
Winnik accumulated six goals and 17 assists for his second consecutive 20-plus-point campaign in 2017-18.
Winnik is a journeyman who will be able to hit the open market this summer, having already been under contract by the Maple Leafs, Ducks, Avalanche, Coyotes and Wild through 11 years of NHL service time. He looked pretty good in his bottom-six role with Minnesota, but it remains to be seen which direction that club will head now that Chuck Fletcher is out as general manager.

Winnik is still looking for goal No. 3 of the season, as his drought recently reached 24 games.
During Winnik's goalless streak, he has compiled a mere six helpers, nine PIM and 10 blocks. One important factor in the veteran's inability to find the back of the net is his lack of shots, as he is averaging just one per game during his dry spell. The 32-year-old notched 12 goals last season and will almost certainly miss that mark this time around.

Wild's Daniel Winnik: Goal drought extends to eight games
Winnik failed to score a goal for the eighth consecutive game during Tuesday's 3-0 win over Philadelphia.
Winnik has carved out an important defensive role in his first campaign with the Wild. He's beginning 54.0 percent of his five-on-five shifts in his own zone and is averaging 2:16 per contest killing penalties. Unfortunately it's led to just two goals, five points and 16 shots through 17 games, and it would be surprising if the offense began to pick up. As a result, it's difficult to rely on Winnik in the majority of fantasy settings.

Winnik is rarely used on special teams, but he could get some time on the power play the next few games with the Wild having several skaters out with injuries.

Wild's Daniel Winnik: Joins Wild on full-time basis
Winnik signed a one-year deal worth $660,000 with Minnesota on Wednesday.
The 10-year NHL vet joins his eighth team after winning a spot while playing on a professional tryout contract during training camp. Winnik brings experience and penalty-killing ability, and is coming off a 2016-17 campaign that saw him score a career-high 12 goals. From that sense, Minnesota appears to have gotten a great bargain in adding Winnik, though from a fantasy standpoint, he won't be much of a factor outside of the deepest of leagues.

With the ink on his contract still drying, the Ontario native needed to quickly establish a work visa in order to be eligible to play. The 32-year-old will join fellow veteran and new addition Matt Cullen on the Wild's fourth line.

Winnik will be in training camp with the Wild on a PTO, as announced by the team Tuesday.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 206 pounds, Winnik offers size up front, but he'll almost assuredly claim a bottom-six role if he latches on with the Wild following the tryout. The journeyman played with the Capitals last season and notched 25 points in 72 regular-season games, but he put up goose eggs in the box score over 13 playoff contests, and he now has just three assists for his only points over 58 career matches when it matters the most.

Winnik scored a goal with a plus-1 rating, six shots on goal and a minor penalty in Friday's 6-3 loss against the Coyotes.
Winnik has 12 goals this season, and three of them have come against the Coyotes in two outings. He and his fantasy owners wish the Caps played Arizona more, as Winnik really seems to get fired up facing his former organization.

Winnik posted a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating with a minor penalty in Saturday's 6-4 win against the Ducks.
Despite the multi-point effort, he still has just seven goals and 10 assists this season. He isn't someone you'll want to rely upon regularly outside of the deepest fantasy pools since he generally sees bottom-six minutes and very little power-play work.
