Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson has had a tremendous season full of highlights and some smashing of the record books.

Some, like myself, have viewed him as a leading Norris Trophy candidate. Others have said he's too one-dimensional (see: offensive) to win the Norris. Well detractors, eat your heart out, this is your rallying cry.

It was not technically an own goal against Karlsson but, well, it pretty much was. The puck did touch Tim Connolly before banking in off of Ben Bishop so the hard-luck Maple Leafs center actually had a rare stroke of it and was credited with the goal.

Of course, as the commentators point out, Bishop deserves his blame on this play. In fact, he might deserve the majority of it. With two young players, hopefully they learn from it.

It was almost the game-winning goal too but James Reimer's shutout bid was ended with just over a minute left in the game.
