Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Still recovering
Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Wednesday that Jackson (knee) is still in the recovery process, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Jackson missed the final eight games of Miami's 2024 campaign due to a knee injury, and it appears he's still recovering from the issue. When the 25-year-old returns from injury, he's expected to assume a leadership role on the Dolphins' offensive line and start at right tackle.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Steps into leadership role
Jackson (knee) is the Dolphins' longest-tenured player along the offensive line following the retirement of Terron Armstead and is poised for a leadership role in 2025, in addition to his starting duties at right tackle, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports.
Jackson becomes the leader of a group introducing a new starter at right guard in James Daniels (Achilles), and relying on 2024 second-round pick Patrick Paul to develop into a starting-quality left tackle after a rough rookie year. With Jackson now healthy after having his 2024 campaign cut short due to a knee injury, Miami's chances of avoiding disastrously low quality O-line play rest in no small part on the right tackle's shoulders.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Done for season
Head coach Mike McDaniels told reporters Tuesday that Jackson will require season-ending knee surgery, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
Jackson was ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Rams due to a knee injury. He was placed on injured reserve Monday, and after further evaluation, the 2020 first-round pick will undergo surgery and remain on IR for the rest of the 2024 campaign. Kendall Lamm is expected to serve as the Dolphins' starting right tackle for the rest of the regular season.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Shifts to IR
Jackson (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Jackson's knee issue may require surgery and he was unable to practice all week, so the move to IR on Monday comes as no surprise. The 25-year-old will now be forced to miss the Dolphins' next four games, with his earliest possible return coming in Week 14 against the Jets. Expect Kendall Lamm to serve as Miami's top right tackle until Jackson can return to the field.

Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Ruled out for Monday
Jackson (knee) won't play Monday against the Rams, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Jackson has dealt with a knee issue all week and wasn't able to practice in any capacity. With the 2020 first-round draft pick unable to suit up Monday, Kendall Lamm or Patrick Paul could start at right tackle for Miami. According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, head coach Mike McDaniel said Jackson's knee issue isn't viewed as season-ending, but the 25-year-old might need surgery to address the injury.
