Report: Bengals trade LB Keith Rivers to Giants
According to the Newark Star Ledger, the Bengals will trade linebacker Keith Rivers, who missed all of last season, to the Giants.
It sounds like the Bengals have given up on another one of their first-round draft picks. As the Newark Star Ledger reports, Cincinnati will send Keith Rivers, selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2008 draft, to the Giants. According to the NY Daily News, the Giants will send their fifth-round pick (No. 32) in exchange for Rivers.
The deal isn’t official yet, but according to the Star Ledger's source, “It’s going to happen.”
Rivers has been a disappointment, mostly because he simply can’t stay healthy. He missed all of last season because of a wrist injury, and from 2008-10, he sat out a total of 13 contests. Or you can put it this way:
In the past 4 seasons Keith Rivers has totaled 1,325 defensive snaps. Lance Briggs played 1,116 last year alone.

Rivers joins a group of disappointing Bengals first-round picks since 1999 that include Akili Smith, Andre Smith, David Pollack, Chris Perry and Peter Warrick.
