Rays' Kameron Misner: Day off Friday

Rays' Kameron Misner: Slugs homer in win
Misner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Rangers.
Misner got the scoring started Tuesday with a wall-scraper solo homer in the second inning. After a strong April, the 27-year-old has struggled significantly of late. Over his past 30 games, the outfielder is slashing just .151/.232/.233 with only three extra-base hits. Misner's defensive versatility is a plus, but he'll have to improve offensively to receive consistent playing time.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Ends hitless streak
Misner went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base Sunday against the Blue Jays.
Misner entered Sunday's game hitless across his last seven appearances, spanning 14 at-bats. He broke that stretch in his first plate appearance and then stole his sixth base of the season after reaching on a fielder's choice in his next at-bat. Despite the positive performance, Misner is hitting just .125 across 64 at-bats with three RBI and nine runs scored across 21 games in May. Positively, he does have five of his stolen bases in that span.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Homers in Thursday's win
Misner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays.
Misner has hit safely in four straight games, going 4-for-15 with two RBI and eight strikeouts in that span. He hasn't logged a multi-hit effort since April 23 versus the Diamondbacks, but the Rays' injury woes in the outfield have allowed Misner to maintain a starting role in center field. He cedes some at-bats to Chandler Simpson, primarily against left-handed pitchers. Misner has a .256/.305/.436 slash line with four homers, 13 RBI, 18 runs scored, three stolen bases, seven doubles and a triple over 128 plate appearances.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Heading to bench Wednesday
Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Misner will hit the bench after he had started in each of the Rays' last five games. He went just 2-for-21 at the dish during that span and is now slashing .271/.314/.458 on the season, and his downward-trending production could begin to cost him some starts against left-handed pitching. The lefty-hitting Misner should still be in store for a regular spot in the lineup versus righties until the Rays reclaim some health in the outfield.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Production slowing
Misner went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Friday against the Yankees.
Misner has enjoyed a surprisingly consistent role in the Rays' offense to begin the season due to several injuries to the team's outfield. He began the campaign well, hitting .400 with three homers across his first 14 games. However, in 14 games since, he's struck out at a 30.4 percent clip with no homers and two RBI. Despite the slowed production, Misner remains on the strong side of a platoon and has also been in the lineup for two of Tampa Bay's last three matchups against southpaws.

Misner went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 16-1 win over the Red Sox.
Misner powered the Rays' offense with his first career multi-homer game. The 27-year-old hit a 431-foot, two-run bomb in the second inning before returning in the eighth to add a 355-foot solo shot. Misner is currently in a strong-side platoon role but may garner additional playing time thanks to his scorching hot .400/.444/.775 slash line across 45 plate appearances.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Scores twice, swipes bag
Misner went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a stolen base Friday against Atlanta.
Misner remains in a strong-side platoon role with Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) sidelined, although Richie Palacios (finger) appears to be nearing a return. Nonetheless, Misner is reaching base consistently, collecting at least one hit in eight of his 10 starts. Most impressively, Misner has struck out at just a 16.3 percent clip after striking out at around a 30 percent rate in the upper levels of the minors.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Taking seat against lefty
Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the hill for the Angels, the Rays will counter with a lineup made up entirely of right-handed and switch hitters. Tampa Bay will roll out an outfield of Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero from left to right while Misner sits.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Hitting bench Wednesday
Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Misner had picked up starts in the outfield while batting sixth in each of the last four games, going a collective 4-for-13 with a double, three RBI and a run. While Josh Lowe (oblique) is on the injured list, Rays manager Kevin Cash could mix and match at all three outfield spots, taking into account both the opposing pitcher and which of his outfielders are swinging hot bats. The Rays will run out a trio of Jake Mangum, Jonny DeLuca and Jose Caballero from left to right Wednesday.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Hits in two straight
Misner went 1-for-3 with two RBI on Tuesday against the Pirates.
Misner has started four straight games in the absence of Josh Lowe (oblique), starting at each outfield spot in that span. He started slowly offensively but now has one hit in each of the last two games while driving in three and recording a double. Misner should continue to slot into a large-side platoon role for as long as Lowe is sidelined.

Rays' Kameron Misner: Nabbing second straight start
Misner will start in left field and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Misner will pick up his second straight start against a right-handed pitcher (Ryan Feltner) after he manned right field in Saturday's 2-1 loss while going 2-for-4 at the dish. With Josh Lowe (oblique) on the injured list, the lefty-hitting Misner looks like he could hold down a strong-side platoon role in the corner outfield.
