Despite the limitations, he performed well and fired off his eighth scoreless start of the campaign. 2024 was a career year for the 24-year-old, as he logged a 2.75 ERA with a 169:57 K:BB across 26 starts (150.1 innings).

Reds' Hunter Greene: Tough-luck loser in return
Greene (9-5) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one earned run on two hits and one walk while striking out four in three innings.
Making his first start since Aug. 13, Greene threw only 45 pitches in his three innings of work. Greene allowed a solo home run to Oneil Cruz in the opening frame, but he shook off the rust afterwards, allowing just two more baserunners while striking out four. The 25-year-old's workload will be heavily scrutinized next weekend against the Cubs in what will be the final start of Greene's breakout 2024 season. The right-hander currently sports a robust 2.83 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 166:54 K:BB in 146.1 innings (25 starts).

Reds' Hunter Greene: Slated for bullpen session
Greene (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
It would appear to be the first time he's thrown off a mound since he went down with right elbow inflammation in mid-August. As long as Greene gets through Thursday's bullpen session with no hiccups, he will have another one Sunday. The righty will continue to be built back up as he aims to rejoin the Reds' rotation before the end of the season, but he would appear to still be at least a couple weeks away.
