Rays' Eric Orze: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rays optioned Orze to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
His roster spot will be filled by Bryan Baker, who was acquired via trade earlier Thursday. Orze has been a trusted member of the Rays' bullpen for much of the season, but he's stumbled lately, allowing nine runs (eight earned) over his last 10.2 innings.

Rays' Eric Orze: Secures save Sunday
Orze allowed an unearned run in one inning during Sunday's extra-inning win over the Twins. He walked one batter and earned a save.
Orze entered the 10th inning with a 7-4 lead and closed things out without much trouble aside from the automatic runner coming around to score. It was his first save since May 9, and he's converted each of his three chances this season. Orze owns a 2.79 ERA with a 35:13 K:BB across 38.2 innings on the campaign. Pete Fairbanks threw 1.2 innings and earned a win Sunday.

Rays' Eric Orze: Picks up second save
Orze gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in Friday's 4-3 win over the Brewers.
Pete Fairbanks and most of the other high-leverage arms in the Tampa Bay bullpen had worked Wednesday and Thursday, forcing manager Kevin Cash to get creative in the late innings. Orze's other save this season came in the 11th inning against Arizona on April 23, and while he's gotten the job done when called upon, the 27-year-old righty doesn't seem likely to move up in the Rays' bullpen hierarchy. Orze's 0.68 ERA through 13.1 innings isn't supported by his 1.35 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB.

Rays' Eric Orze: Recalled from Triple-A
The Rays recalled Orze from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Orze had permitted just one hit and one run with a 9:0 K:BB over his first six innings with Durham this season. The 27-year-old will provide Tampa Bay with a fresh bullpen arm.

Rays' Eric Orze: Optioned to Triple-A
The Rays optioned Orze to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Orze has been excellent during Grapefruit League play, posting a 1.42 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 6.1 frames. However, he has minor-league options remaining, and the Rays will take advantage of that.

Rays' Eric Orze: Dealt to Tampa Bay
The Rays acquired Orze from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Jose Siri, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Orze, 27, yielded four runs over 1.2 frames during his first go-round in the majors in 2024 but posted a 2.92 ERA and 84:31 K:BB across 61.2 innings with Triple-A Syracuse. The Rays often work wonders with their relievers, so if they see something in Orze then he's probably worth keeping an eye on.
