  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Reaches base four times

Diaz went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Royals. Diaz collected hits in the first, third and fifth innings and came around to score in the latter. He's been on an unreal tear lately, collecting multiple hits in six straight contests and 11 times during his active 14-game hitting streak. During that span, he's gone 29-for-60 (.483), raising his season slash line to .289/.338/.470 with 29 extra-base hits and 36 runs scored.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Clubs two solo homers

Diaz went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs in Friday's 14-8 win over the Tigers. Diaz set the tone with a leadoff home run in the first inning before tacking on another solo shot in the fifth to extend the Rays' lead to six runs. Diaz is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in each of his last 15 games. He has a scorching .468 batting average (22-for-47) with 10 runs scored, four home runs and 10 RBI during his current hitting streak.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Picking up rest Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets. Diaz appeared to be in some discomfort after a slide into home plate in Saturday's 8-4 win, but he wasn't removed from the game at any point, and manager Kevin Cash said that the 33-year-old is "totally available" off the bench Sunday, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Diaz's absence thus looks to be little more than a pre-planned rest day after he had started each of the Rays' last seven games. He's been on a heater of late, slashing .408/.473/.673 with three home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs in 12 games dating back to May 31.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Smacks 10th homer

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Red Sox. Diaz tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning with his 10th home run of the season. He has gone deep three times in his last 10 contests while going 15-for-39 with eight RBI and eight runs scored in that span. This run has increased Diaz's ISO to .169 on the campaign, which would be good for the third-highest mark of his career.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Powers offense in win

Diaz went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Marlins. Diaz got the Rays on the board in the fifth inning, driving a two-out, opposite-field blast off Valente Bellozo to tie the game 2-2. It's the ninth homer of the year for Diaz, who's gone 10-for-27 (.370) over his last seven games. He's slashing .248/.297/.413 with 25 runs scored, 36 RBI and three steals across 263 plate appearances this season.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Grabbing seat Friday

Diaz is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins. It's a routine day off for Diaz, who had started each of the previous nine contests. The Rays are going with Brandon Lowe at designated hitter, with Curtis Mead getting the nod at second base.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Enjoys big day at plate Saturday

Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in Saturday's 16-3 rout of the Astros. Diaz gave the Rays their first lead with a two-run blast in the third inning and added a run-scoring double to cap the scoring in the ninth. Diaz's three-hit performance was his fifth of the season and his first since May 4. He finished May on a strong note but batted just .224 (22-for-98) during the month, though he added five long balls and 21 RBI over 24 games.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Doubles, drives in two in rout

Diaz went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 13-3 win over the Astros. It was Diaz's first multi-hit game since May 21, as it's been a relatively quiet stretch for him at the plate in terms of batting average. Across his last 11 contests, the veteran corner infielder is batting just .234 with one homer, three doubles, 10 RBI and five runs scored. Diaz does have four multi-RBI efforts and multi-hit games during this period, however.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Idle Monday

Diaz isn't part of the Rays' starting lineup for Monday's game against the Twins, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports. Diaz will get the night off Monday after making nine consecutive starts at DH for Tampa Bay. In his stead, Brandon Lowe will DH and Curtis Mead will play second base.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Knocks in two

Diaz went 2-for-5 with two RBI on Saturday against the Marlins. Diaz was held out of the Rays' series earlier in the week against the Blue Jays due to passport issues, but he returned Friday and has started both games since. He delivered a key two-RBI single in the fifth frame Saturday and tallied his first multi-hit game since May 4. As that implies, Diaz has slowed a bit this month by going 10-for-47, albeit with 10 RBI and three runs scored across 12 games.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Back from restricted list

The Rays reinstated Diaz (personal) from the restricted list Friday. The 33-year-old was unavailable for a three-game series in Toronto due to a passport issue, but he's back with the Rays for Friday's series opener in Miami. Diaz has a .238/.291/.400 slash line with six homers through 175 plate appearances this year, and he's batting just .184 (7-for-38) through 10 games in May.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Unavailable due to passport issue

Diaz is on the restricted list because there was a delay in having his passport renewed as the team traveled to Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Diaz will presumably miss the series in Toronto before returning to action this weekend in Miami.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: To restricted list

The Rays placed Diaz on the restricted list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. It's unclear what the reason is for Diaz being placed on the restricted list or how long he'll be unavailable. Coco Montes was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Pops sixth homer

Diaz went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Thursday against the Phillies. Diaz slotted into the leadoff spot for the second straight game since returning from a hip injury -- both of which came against lefties. He popped his sixth home run of the season in the seventh inning, his third in his last seven games. Diaz now has a .174 ISO across 163 plate appearances, which would be good for the second-highest mark of his career.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Handling DH duties Wednesday

Diaz (hip) will serve as the Rays' designated hitter and leadoff batter in Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. Diaz exited Tuesday's 8-4 win early due to right hip tightness, but he downplayed the injury after the game and suggested he would be back in action Wednesday. His prediction appears to have come true, and he'll move up to the top of the order after having occupied the No. 3 spot in his previous two starts. The left-handed-hitting Chandler Simpson could continue to bat leadoff against right-handed pitching, but Diaz looks like he'll be the Rays' preferred table setter versus lefties such as the Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Battling hip tightness

Diaz exited Tuesday's game against the Phillies early due to right hip tightness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Diaz suffered the injury during a swing in the sixth inning and wasn't able to finish his at-bat. However, manager Kevin Cash said after the game that the issue isn't anything too serious and expects the 33-year-old to be back in the starting lineup Wednesday.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Exits early Tuesday

Diaz was removed from Tuesday's game against the Phillies due to an apparent leg injury, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Diaz was favoring his right leg after taking an awkward swing during the sixth inning, and he was replaced by Christopher Morel in the middle of his at-bat. An update on Diaz should come once the Rays' medical staff is able to take a closer look at him, but he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Pops fourth homer

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday against the Royals. Diaz got the Rays off to a quick start, as he delivered his fourth home run of the season in the first inning. He continues to get on track at the plate after a slow start to the year, as he's gone 15-for-44 with only four strikeouts across his last 11 games.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Strong stretch continues Wednesday

Diaz went 3-for-6 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's extra-inning win over the Diamondbacks. Diaz established a season high with three RBI on Wednesday, and he also hit two doubles in a game for the first time this season. The veteran infielder now has six multi-hit performances in 2025, and he's been hitting for some more power lately. Over his last 14 outings, Diaz is batting .293 (17-for-58) with three home runs, four doubles, 10 RBI and seven runs scored.

  • Rays' Yandy Diaz: Three hits in win

Diaz went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Saturday against the Yankees. Diaz failed to record multiple hits across his first 10 starts of the campaign, but he continues to turn things around at the plate, as Saturday marked his fifth multi-hit effort in his last 11 starts. In that 11-game sample, Diaz has also managed three homers and five total extra-base hits to go along with seven RBI and seven runs scored.
