Corbin (4-5) earned the win Thursday over the Twins, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six. After taking a loss despite throwing an eight-inning complete game in his last outing, Corbin had much better luck Thursday -- the Rangers jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks to a five-run second inning, ultimately cruising to a 16-3 victory. The 35-year-old Corbin has yet to allow more than three runs in a start in what's been an impressive bounce-back campaign. His ERA sits at 3.66 with a 1.22 WHIP and 49:21 K:BB across 12 starts (66.1 innings). Corbin is currently slated to face the Royals at home in his next outing.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Goes distance against former club
Corbin (3-5) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on five hits over eight innings as the Rangers fell 2-0 to the Nationals. He struck out two without walking a batter. The veteran lefty was locked in against the team with which he won a World Series ring back in 2019, but Corbin got no run support. He tossed a complete game on 89 pitches (60 strikes). After posting an ERA north of 5.00 in four straight campaigns before leaving Washington, Corbin's having an impressive comeback in Texas, delivering a 3.52 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB over 61.1 innings. He'll look for his first win since May 14 in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Minnesota.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Suffers fourth loss
Corbin (3-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Cardinals. He struck out three. Corbin delivered a quality outing Saturday, but a lack of run support resulted in his fourth loss of the season. Despite the defeat, the left-hander is having a nice bounce-back campaign after posting a 5.62 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 174.2 regular-season innings with the Nationals in 2024. The 35-year-old owns a 3.71 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 53.1 innings, and he hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any of his 10 starts this year.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Yields three runs in loss
Corbin (3-3) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings. Despite limiting the Yankees to three runs Tuesday, Corbin still came away with the loss as the Rangers were kept off the board until the ninth. Corbin hasn't yielded more than three earned runs in any of his eight starts this season and has a 3.59 ERA over 42.2 innings, which is in stark contrast to the 5.71 ERA he posted across the four prior years. He's in line to face the White Sox on the road this weekend.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Season-high nine Ks in third win
Corbin (3-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Rockies after allowing three runs on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out nine. Corbin established a season high with nine punchouts, which also represented his most Ks in a start since 2023. Wednesday marked his second straight quality start, and the veteran left-hander also produced a strong 15 swinging strikes, notably fanning six in a row at one point. Corbin will take a quality 3.35 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB over 37.2 frames into a tough matchup on the road against the Yankees, who boast an .878 OPS versus left-handed pitching through their first 42 games.... Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Takes loss despite quality start
Corbin (2-2) was tagged with the loss against the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three across seven innings. It was another strong outing for the veteran southpaw, though he took the loss for the second time in his last three starts after being outdueled by Detroit ace Tarik Skubal. Although he generated only four whiffs and issued four walks, Corbin was able to complete seven innings for the first time in 2025 while tossing 93 pitches (50 strikes) and inducing 12 flyballs. This was his first quality start of the season, and the 35-year-old has a 3.13 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB across 31.2 innings. Corbin is lined up to face the Rockies at home next week.... Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Pitches well again Saturday
Corbin allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Saturday. Corbin served up a leadoff homer to J.P. Crawford in the first inning, but the Mariners were unable to score on him after that. The veteran lefty fell one out shy of his first quality start of the season, though he did extend his streak of giving up two or fewer runs to four outings. Corbin hasn't completed six frames in a start yet, but he's enjoying a bit of a career revival in Texas so far, posting a 3.28 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB over 24.2 innings spanning five starts.... Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Handed first loss
Corbin (2-1) yielded two runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Athletics. Corbin worked through four scoreless frames before running into trouble in the fifth inning. He gave up two extra-base hits in the inning and was removed from the game after Tyler Soderstrom's two-run double. Corbin generated a season-high 12 whiffs, including six with his slider. He has not given up more than three runs in any start this season but has not completed six innings in any of those outings. Corbin will carry a 3.79 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be at home this weekend against the Mariners.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Nabs second win
Corbin (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 8-5 victory over the A's, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out four. The 35-year-old lefty tossed 85 pitches (57 strikes) as he continues to give an injury-thinned Texas rotation surprisingly solid innings. Through three starts, Corbin has a 3.77 ERA, but his 1.53 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB are bright red flags that he's still the same pitcher that was saddled with a 5.71 ERA over the prior four seasons with the Nationals. With Kumar Rocker beginning to come around, the Rangers could have a tough choice to make once Jack Leiter (finger) is ready to return from the IL.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Turns back clock in first win
Corbin (1-0) earned the victory against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings. Corbin held the Angels scoreless until the sixth frame, when Los Angeles managed to push across one run on three hits against him. The lefty was lifted with the tying runs on base, but Texas' bullpen came to the rescue and didn't allow any more Angels to score for the remainder of the game. Fantasy managers who have avoided Corbin in recent seasons may have trouble remembering that he made two All-Star teams and finished fifth in NL Cy Young voting earlier in his career. At 35 years of age, Corbin likely isn't primed for a late-career rejuvenation, so there's probably no need to rush to the waiver wire unless the veteran hurler puts together a string of similarly effective starts.... Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Struggles in second inning Tuesday
Corbin didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with no strikeouts in four innings. Corbin had a rough second inning in his Rangers debut, giving up a leadoff homer to Dansby Swanson and a two-run single to Seiya Suzuki. The veteran left-hander tossed three scoreless innings otherwise, and he was able to throw 74 pitches before his night came to an end. Corbin could have some deep-league streaming appeal at home against the Angels in his next scheduled start, which lines up for early next week.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Recalled from Triple-A
The Rangers recalled Corbin from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. The original plan was for Corbin to join the Rangers around April 11, but Jack Leiter's move to the injured list Friday with a blister issue has forced the team to work a bit ahead of schedule. Assuming he slides right into Leiter's place in the rotation, Corbin will make his season debut Tuesday against the Cubs.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Heads to minors
The Rangers optioned Corbin to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. Corbin signed a one-year deal with Texas on March 18, so rather than having him rush through his throwing progression, he will begin the year in the minors to continue building up at a more comfortable pace. He's expected to make two starts at Round Rock before potentially slotting into the Texas rotation for the team's series in Seattle that runs from April 11 through 13. Corbin is coming off a 2024 season with the Nationals in which he submitted a 5.62 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 174.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Eyes April 11 for season debut
The Rangers optioned Corbin to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports. Corbin's tenure meant he had to agree to being sent down, which he did so that he could continue to build up stamina after signing with the Rangers last week. He is slated to make two starts in the minors, with the goal of joining the Rangers' rotation April 11 against the Mariners.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Will join new team after camp
Corbin will not join the Rangers in Arizona for the final few days of camp as he awaits the imminent birth of his child, but he will meet the team in Texas, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. Corbin inked a one-year deal with Texas on Tuesday, but his first game action with the new club will have to wait. The Rangers wrap up their Cactus League schedule March 22 before heading home to Arlington to play two exhibition games against the Royals on March 24 and 25.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Lands deal with Texas
Corbin agreed to a one-year, major-league contract with the Rangers on Tuesday. The rumor mill was pretty quiet on Corbin throughout the offseason, but he secured a big-league deal with Texas, as Jon Gray (wrist) and Cody Bradford (elbow) are facing extended absences. Corbin has rated as the worst regular starting pitcher in baseball over the past four years and finished the 2024 campaign with a 5.62 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 139:54 K:BB across 174.2 innings. The left-hander brings some veteran stability to a depleted rotation with at least 31 starts in each of those four seasons, but he isn't likely to be fantasy relevant given his recent track record.... Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Gives up four runs vs. Royals
Corbin didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Kansas City, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three. Corbin surrendered a homer to Hunter Renfroe in the second inning before the Royals tacked on three more runs with five straight singles in the third. The left-hander's now allowed 17 runs in over his last 21.2 innings. Corbin will wrap up the season at 6-13 with a 5.62 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 139:54 K:BB across 32 starts (174.2 innings).... Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Lit up in defeat
Corbin (5-13) took the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over six innings against the Pirates. He struck out five. Corbin entered the contest having allowed three runs total while accumulating wins in each of his last three starts but allowed four runs in the first and seven total over his six-inning performance. The seven runs allowed represented the second time since mid-June that he's allowed more than four runs in a start. Corbin's next opportunity to eat innings for the Nationals is tentatively slated to take place at home against the Marlins.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Stymies Yankees in victory
Corbin (4-12) earned the win Tuesday against the Yankees, pitching six scoreless innings while allowing two hits and two walks. He struck out six. With this 104-pitch effort, the 35-year-old has posted consecutive wins for the first time since Aug. 2023. Corbin generated a convincing 13 whiffs en route to his six punchouts, as the Yankees lineup was flummoxed by his slider and sinker, which caused five swings and misses apiece. Despite another rough year from the veteran southpaw, he was serviceable in August while going 2-1 with a 3.76 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB in 26.1 innings across five starts. Corbin is tentatively scheduled to make his first start of September against the Marlins in Miami next week.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Strikes out eight in win
Corbin (3-12) earned the win Thursday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings against the Rockies. He struck out eight. Corbin tossed 95 pitches in holding the Rockies to just one run, compliments of a sixth-inning solo blast by Brenton Doyle. It marks just the second time this season Corbin has allowed one run while completing at least six innings. The outing lowered Corbin's ERA to 5.73 with a 1.54 WHIP and 107 strikeouts over 141.1 innings spanning 26 starts. He's next slated to take the hill in a home matchup with the Yankees early next week.... See More ... See Less
