Freeman isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. An 0-for-3 performance Thursday broke up Freeman's modest four-game hitting streak, and he'll now grab a seat on the bench while Enrique Hernandez starts at first base during Friday's series opener.... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: In lineup despite quad issue
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Freeman is in Wednesday's lineup in San Diego in spite of a quad injury suffered Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The injury likely means Freeman will be running at less than 100 percent, but "he's managing it," per Roberts. Freeman has played in every game since April 11 for the Dodgers, starting all but two contests over that span. Unless the injury gets worse, it sounds like Freeman will continue trying to play through it.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Three-hit effort in win
Freeman went 3-fo-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Padres. Freeman had been in a bit of a rut prior to Monday, going just 1-for-16 with two walks and six strikeouts over his last five games. He broke out of the slump with his third multi-hit effort of June. The first baseman has been one of the hottest hitters in the majors since late April, so a brief slump is nothing to be worried about. He's posted a .351/.418/.591 slash line with nine home runs, 41 RBI, 36 runs scored, 21 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases through 56 games.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Getting Thursday off
Freeman isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Freeman will take a seat for Thursday's series finale after going 4-for-12 with two RBI and a run scored through the first three games. He'll be replaced at first base by Enrique Hernandez, who will bat seventh against Mets starter David Peterson.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Posts three hits Friday
Freeman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 8-5 win over the Yankees. After going hitless in consecutive games for just the second time all year May 23-24 versus the Mets, Freeman has bounced back in a big way with four multi-hit efforts over his last five contests. He is 10-for-20 (.500) with three RBI and three doubles in that span. The star first baseman is batting .368 with a 1.066 OPS while adding nine home runs, 16 doubles, 37 RBI, 31 runs scored and one triple over 46 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Four hits in high-scoring loss
Freeman went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in Saturday's 11-9 loss to the Angels. Freeman has a pair of four-hit efforts over his last six games. He's batting .441 (26-for-59) over 15 contests in May, adding eight extra-base hits and 17 RBI. The first baseman's .375 batting average ranks second to only Aaron Judge (.402) through Saturday's action. Freeman has added a fantastic 1.115 OPS, nine home runs, 34 RBI, 26 runs scored and no stolen bases through 35 games as he continues to receive treatment on his surgically repaired right ankle. While that ongoing recovery will prevent him from making much of an impact with speed, he's more than made up for it with his elite and dependable bat.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Intensive daily treatment on ankle
Freeman requires 90 minutes of treatment on his surgically repaired right ankle every day, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Freeman noted that the ankle is "not 100 percent" but is "good enough" to play on. The lingering ankle discomfort is likely the main reason Freeman has yet to steal a base in 2025 after averaging 15 steals over the previous three seasons. However, it has not affected Freeman at the plate, as he's sporting a robust .376/.437/.734 batting line with nine home runs and 33 RBI. Freeman has been told by doctors that he might not have to do as much daily treatment on the ankle after the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Dialed in during Sunday's win
Freeman went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Diamondbacks. Freeman supplied an RBI double in the first inning, a sacrifice fly in the fifth and a solo homer in the seventh. This was his bounce-back effort after seeing his 14-game hitting streak end with an 0-for-4 performance Saturday. During that streak, the first baseman his .472 (25-for-53) with nine extra-base hits and 19 RBI. For the season, he's at a superb .376/.437/.734 slash line with nine homers, 33 RBI, 22 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple over 30 contests, though he's 0-for-1 on stolen base attempts.... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Bases-clearing triple vs. Miami
Freeman went 3-for-4 with one run scored, one triple and four RBI in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Marlins. Freeman got the Dodgers on the board in the sixth inning with an RBI single, and he added to the lead in the seventh with a bases-clearing RBI triple before being brought home by Andy Pages. Freeman has been on fire at the plate and is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak, going 22-for-46 (.478) with 11 runs scored, four home runs and 18 RBI over that span.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Clubs another homer
Freeman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in an extra-inning loss to Miami on Tuesday. Freeman twice gave the Dodgers a lead in the contest -- he plated a run with a single in the first inning and belted a 405-foot solo shot to center field in the sixth. The star first baseman not only has an 11-game hitting streak going, he's also tallied multiple hits in seven of those contests and is slashing a scorching .452/.531/.810 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 10 runs and a 7:6 BB:K during that span. Freeman missed some time earlier in the season due to an ankle injury and doesn't have enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting-average leaderboard, but if he did he'd be leading the National League with a .344 mark.... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Remains red-hot
Freeman went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-4 win against Miami. Freeman belted a two-run shot to center field in the third inning to give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead. The veteran first baseman has hit safely in 10 straight games and is batting a sizzling .447 (17-for-38) with three homers and 12 RBI during that span. The hot streak has pushed Freeman's season batting average to .337, which would be fifth-highest in the majors if Freeman had enough plate appearances to qualify.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Plates four runs vs. former squad
Freeman went 3-for-5 with a home run, two total runs and four total RBI in a 10-3 victory against Atlanta on Saturday. Freeman knocked in a run with a single in the fourth inning and later broke the game open with a three-run blast to center field in the eighth. In the process, the veteran first baseman extended his hitting streak to eight games -- a stretch during which he's batting a sizzling .483 (14-for-29) with two homers, 10 RBI and a 6:4 BB:K. Freeman has dealt with a lingering ankle injury at times early in the season, but he's been as potent as ever with a .338/.422/.662 slash line, six home runs and 21 RBI through 22 games.... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Homers Wednesday
Freeman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 12-7 victory over the Marlins. Freeman extended the Dodgers' lead to 8-3 in the sixth inning with a 406-foot blast of Jesus Tinoco, his fifth homer of the year. The 35-year-old Freeman has been locked in at the plate, going 10-for-21 (.476) in his last six games. His slash line is up to .319/.407/.638 through 81 plate appearances this season with 17 RBI and 13 runs scored.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Belts two-run homer vs. Texas
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers. Freeman tied things up at 2-2 in the fourth inning, when he took Nathan Eovaldi deep to right field for a two-run moon shot. It was Freeman's fourth home run of the year (and second in his last three games), and he's gone 7-for-18 with four walks, two runs scored and four RBI over his past five contests.... See More ... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Swats third homer
Freeman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Rockies on Wednesday in an 8-7 victory. Freeman contributed to a seven-run Los Angeles first inning with a solo shot to right-center field. The star first baseman added a single later in the game to collect his third consecutive multi-hit performance. After a relatively slow start to the season, Freeman's hot three-game stretch has boosted his season batting average from .211 to .333, though he's played in only nine contests so far due to a nagging ankle injury.... Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Planned day off
Freeman is receiving a planned day off Sunday against the Cubs, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports. Freeman will get a breather as the Dodgers wrap up their series with Chicago. Manager Dave Roberts explained that the team didn't want the first baseman playing the entire six-game homestand without any rest, resulting in Freeman's absence from Sunday's lineup. Freeman will likely be back in action Monday for the team's series opener versus the Rockies at home.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Returns from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Freeman (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Friday. Freeman has been sidelined since March 31 after slipping in the shower and tweaking his surgically repaired right ankle, but he'll now return to the Dodgers' lineup after a minimum-length IL stint. Prior to his injury, the star first baseman had gone 3-for-12 with two home runs and four RBI in three games.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Set to return Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Freeman (ankle) will be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Freeman has not played any rehab games, but he's been taking live batting practice the last few days and will be thrown back into the lineup this weekend against the Cubs. The veteran first baseman has been out since late March after tweaking his surgically repaired right ankle when he slipped in the shower.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Out again Wednesday
Freeman (ankle) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus Atlanta, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Wednesday will mark the third straight game Freeman has missed since aggravating his right ankle injury while in the shower over the weekend. Enrique Hernandez will pick up another start at first base and bat eighth while Freeman continues to recover. The eight-time All-Star will get an extra day to rest up with the team day off Thursday, though his status for Friday's series opener in Philadelphia remains up in the air.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Remains out of lineup
Freeman (ankle) is absent from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta. This is the second straight game during which Freeman is not in the lineup for the Dodgers after aggravating his right ankle at home while in the shower Monday. This is the same ankle that the 35-year-old sprained in 2024 and that has yet to completely heal. He underwent imaging and the X-rays came back negative Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. As Freeman nurses his ankle, Enrique Hernandez has the start at first base again....
