  • White Sox's Fraser Ellard: Out with lat injury

The White Sox placed Ellard on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left lat strain. The left-hander presumably sustained the injury Saturday when he gave up two runs on two walks over two-thirds of an inning. Ellard missed most of April due to a hamstring strain and is now on the injured list for the second time this season.

  • White Sox's Fraser Ellard: Back from injured list

The White Sox activated Ellard (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Ellard missed almost three weeks of action due to a strained right hamstring. The left-handed reliever should go back to working in high-leverage situations in an unsettled White Sox bullpen.

  • White Sox's Fraser Ellard: Starting rehab assignment Thursday

Ellard (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Ellard landed on the 15-day injured list April 11 due to a right hamstring injury, and he's progressed enough in his recovery to embark on a rehab assignment with Charlotte. He logged a 5.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 6:4 K:BB across five innings out of the White Sox's bullpen before landing on the IL.

  • White Sox's Fraser Ellard: Sent to injured list

The White Sox placed Ellard (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Friday. Ellard struck out two and walked one over one inning of work Wednesday against the Guardians, but he'll miss at least the next couple weeks. Ellard sports a 5.40 ERA and 6:4 K:BB across five innings on the young season. In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled Brandon Eisert from Triple-A Charlotte.

  • White Sox's Fraser Ellard: Takes loss in ninth-inning collapse

Ellard (0-1) allowed three earned runs on two walks and a hit across two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Sunday against the Tigers. Ellard entered the game in the eighth inning to protect a two-run lead and recorded the final out with runners on first and second. He remained on the mound for the final frame, though he allowed a leadoff single and proceeded to load the bases with two walks. Ellard was pulled at that point, but Jordan Leasure allowed all three runners to score, resulting in Ellard taking the loss. This was his third appearance of the season, with the first two coming in the sixth inning when the White Sox were losing. Ellard's usage Sunday suggests he could be a candidate for saves, though his results could change that.
