Wendzel has been invited to major-league camp and could make his MLB debut at some point in 2022, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

The Rangers opened an opportunity for several infielders after they traded Isiah Kiner-Falefa to the Twins for catcher Mitch Garver. Kiner-Falefa was the presumptive starter at third base, but now Texas is looking at a few potential replacements, including the possibility of Wendzel getting at-bats there in 2022. The 25-year-old infielder batted .238/.346/.399 over a combined 263 plate appearances at Double-A Frisco, Triple-A Round Rock and a rookie-level affiliate while rehabbing a wrist injury.
