Draft Scouting Report
Donovan Edwards is a powerful, explosive RB with flashes of big-play ability. Best in a downhill power-running scheme, he’s quick to hit the second level but struggles with lateral agility and sharp cuts. Edwards shows solid vision and patience, but his contact balance is average, and he doesn't consistently break tackles. While limited as a receiver, he’s reliable in pass protection and brings a sturdy frame. Overall, Edwards fits as a change-of-pace back with explosive potential but isn’t a traditional workhorse
- 2023 (vs. Washington): Two carries for 87 yards and two touchdowns in first quarter of Michigan's College Football Playoff championship win
- 2024: Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (589 rushing yards and five total touchdowns)
- Explosive through the second level
- Quality pass blocker
- Excellent in gap scheme
- Minimal lateral wiggle to make defenders miss
- Contact balance is average at best
- Not much receiving experience
- 40-yard dash: 4.44 seconds
- Bench press: 23 reps
- Vertical jump: 38-5 inches
