NEW YORK (AP) Ryan Young ran 30 yards for a tiebreaking, fourth-quarter touchdown and Columbia picked up its first Ivy League win this season with a 17-10 victory over defending conference champion Yale on Saturday.

Young found a hole up the middle to score with 14:12 remaining. Ryan Suitt, who saw his first action of the season last week against Dartmouth after two other quarterbacks were injured during that game, was just 3-of-16 passing for 32 yards but one of those throws was a 16-yard touchdown toss to Casey Mariucci that tied the game at 10-all in the third quarter.

Chris Alleyne scored Columbia's first points with a career-long 51-yard field goal in the first quarter.

Jimmy Check - starting for Yale (4-2, 2-2) in place of league passing leader Kurt Rawlings, who was lost for the season with a broken leg against Penn last week - was 18 of 35 for 238 yards and two interceptions, including a pick by Ryan Gilbert in the Columbia end zone with 32 seconds left.

The win was just the 22nd for Columbia (4-3, 1-3) in 97 games between the schools.
