Georgiev got stuck with his fourth loss in his last five starts, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 4.46 GAA and an .844 save percentage. The Sharks have one more relatively easy matchup in the near future (Thursday versus the Blackhawks) before the quality of opponents turns way up. Still, even in favorable matchups, Georgiev is a massive risk in fantasy.

Even if he struggles, Georgiev may see a heavy workload for a while, as the untested Georgi Romanov (two career appearances) is his backup following the trade of Vitek Vanecek to the Panthers. Georgiev started for the second-straight game with Vitek Vanecek backing up for trade-related reasons. He made 25 saves in a 3-2 shootout win over Toronto on Monday. Georgiev last won back-to-back games in early December, and he had won just once between Dec. 17-Feb. 27 (1-12-1). It's a nice two-game run, but we don't trust it. Keep Georgiev on your bench.

Georgiev actually had a fairly decent performance, but it still wasn't enough in this contest. He's lost his last six decisions and has given up 26 goals over seven games in that span. The state of the Sharks' defense as well as Georgiev's own flaws as a goalie make him a highly risky option for fantasy. He's now 10-19-0 with a 3.64 GAA and an .876 save percentage through 33 appearances between the Sharks and the Avalanche in 2024-25. Vitek Vanecek is likely to get the nod Monday in Winnipeg.
