  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Two points in series opener

Byfield recorded a goal, an assist, three shots and three hits in Monday's 6-5 win over the Oilers in Game 1.

Byfield was one of several Los Angeles players who recorded a multi-point performance in this series opener, and he made his presence felt in the latter stages of both the first and second periods. He doubled the Kings' lead at the 19:27 mark of the first frame with a wrister past Stuart Skinner, and he later set up Phillip Danault's first marker to give the Kings a four-goal cushion. Byfield recorded 54 points (23 goals, 31 assists) across 81 regular-season contests, and he figures to have plenty of opportunities to produce in the playoffs due to his top-six role in the lineup.

Byfield (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup versus Calgary on Thursday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.

Byfield sat out Tuesday against the Kraken after he was injured Monday by Edmonton's Darnell Nurse via a series of cross-checks. Byfield had four goals and three assists in his four appearances leading up to his one-game absence, giving the 22-year-old 23 goals and 54 points over 80 outings in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Not playing Tuesday

Byfield (upper body) won't be in the lineup versus the Kraken on Tuesday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.

Byfield was injured on a sequence of cross-checks by Edmonton's Darnell Nurse in Monday's game. With the Kings locked into the No. 2 seed in the Pacific Division, they won't need to push anything with Byfield over the last two regular-season games. The rest of the Kings' lineup, including who will replace Byfield, will be revealed during warmups.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Departs Monday's game

Byfield sustained an upper-body injury in Monday's 5-0 win over Edmonton.

Byfield was not on the bench for the start of the third period after he was driven downwards into the ice by Edmonton's Darnell Nurse in the middle frame. Nurse then proceeded to illegally check Byfield again after the two players fell to the ice, which forced the latter to leave the contest. Monday was the first game of a back-to-back for Los Angeles, and the Kings will likely utilize the utmost caution with Byfield ahead of the postseason. He should be considered questionable, at best, for Tuesday's road matchup against the Kraken.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Three-game, six-point streak

Byfield had a goal and two assists Saturday in a 5-4 win over the Avalanche.

His line with Alex Laferriere and Kevin Fiala dominated the game, putting up four goals and four assists in the win. • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Power-play goal, assist in win

Byfield scored a power-play goal, dished an assist and added two hits in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Ducks.

The 22-year-old's late surge has him up to 21 goals and 50 points through 78 appearances in 2024-25, including 10 goals and 16 points over 21 games since the start of March. He's done all of that from a middle-six role, though he's often picked up extra minutes while the Kings look to be building in some rest during games for Anze Kopitar. Byfield is a strong contributor for points, shots and hits for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs.

Byfield scored a goal in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Kraken.

Byfield snapped a seven-game goal drought, during which he had three assists, when he scored at 1:48 of the first period. That was the only puck the Kings could put behind Joey Daccord. Byfield reached the 20-goal mark for the second year in a row, and while he's likely to fall short of matching his 55-point total from last season, he's at 48 points (four on the power play) through 77 appearances. The 22-year-old center has added 149 shots on net, 77 hits, 42 PIM and a plus-15 rating this season, production in line with what he did last year aside from a significant drop in power-play success.

Byfield scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Bruins.

Overall, Byfield has 19 goals, 44 points, 134 shots on net, 69 hits and a plus-14 rating through 69 appearances. After a sluggish start to the year, he's rebounded nicely and should end the campaign with a career high in goals.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Two-point effort in win

Byfield produced a goal and an assist in Saturday's 7-2 rout of the Hurricanes.

Every Kings forward got onto the scoresheet in the rout, and Byfield waited until late to get in on the action, potting the team's sixth goal before helping to set up Kevin Fiala for the seventh. It was Byfield's first multi-point performance since Feb. 24, but he's been lighting the lamp with frequency in March -- over the last nine games he has seven goals, but only one helper.

Byfield scored a goal and added two hits in Saturday's 1-0 overtime win over the Predators.

Byfield has taken 13 shots during his scoring binge, so his current pace is way too high to be sustainable. Still, it's helped him overcome a sluggish start to the campaign -- he's now at 17 goals, 40 points, 126 shots on net, 66 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 65 appearances.

This was Byfield's second straight game with a goal, both coming against the Blues, after he went 12 contests without scoring. The 22-year-old had 11 assists in that span, but it's good to see him finishing some chances as well.
