Gibson finished up the practice week with limited participation in both Thursday and Friday's sessions before being listed as questionable. With his Week 1 availability confirmed, Gibson is in line to work in a change-of-pace capacity behind Rhamondre Stevenson, a role that could result in the 26-year-old yielding a degree of fantasy utility in deeper PPR formats over the course of his first campaign with New England.

Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Plans to play Week 1
Gibson (hip), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, plans to play, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Gibson was a limited participant in practice Thursday and Friday, but the Patriots apparently saw enough from the running back to be convinced that he'll be ready to go. Assuming he avoids the inactive list -- which will be released 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff -- Gibson will likely work in a complementary role behind Rhamondre Stevenson. Most of Gibson's usage is expected to come on passing downs.

Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Questionable but optimistic
Gibson (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, but Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that the running back is optimistic he'll be able to play.
Gibson closed out the week with limited participation in practice Thursday and Friday. If he's able to play, Gibson is expected to work in a change-of-pace role behind Rhamondre Stevenson, mixing in primarily for passing situations. JaMycal Hasty would be the next man up for backup duties if Gibson has a setback.

Gibson (hip) was added to Thursday's injury report as a limited participant in practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Gibson practiced in full Wednesday, so it appears his current hip injury is a new issue. The backup running back will have one more chance to upgrade his practice level ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener against the Bengals. If Gibson were to miss any time, JaMycal Hasty would stand to step in as the No. 2 option behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson.

Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Closes preseason with four touches
Gibson carried the ball three times for 17 yards in Sunday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Commanders. He added one reception (on two targets) for 13 yards.
Gibson was the first back in the game for the Patriots with Rhamondre Stevenson sitting out. He played only one offensive drive with Jacoby Brissett (shoulder) under center and got touches on four of the first five offensive plays. Gibson will enter the regular season as the second back on the depth chart, and he should get plenty of work in obvious passing situations while occasionally spelling Stevenson on the ground.
