Britt recorded 10 total tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 31-26 loss to the Falcons.
Britt was the Buccaneers' leading tackler in Sunday's loss, setting a new season high with 10 total stops. The fourth-year pro from Auburn has now tallied 49 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, through Tampa Bay's first eight games this year. He's expected to continue starting alongside Lavonte David (ankle) as part of the Buccaneers' top inside-linebacker duo as the season progresses.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: No restrictions Thursday
Britt (illness) was a full participant during Thursday's practice.
Britt was limited Wednesday due to an illness, but the 2021 fifth-round pick appears to have moved past that issue. He accrued five tackles (three solo) and played 42 snaps (38 on defense, four on special teams) in the Bucs' Week 1 win over the Commanders.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Under the weather
Britt (illness) was limited during practice Wednesday.
Britt's illness didn't keep him off the field Wednesday, so it's likely not significant enough to keep him out Sunday against the Lions. His practice status in the days ahead will still be worth watching.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Ready for bigger role
Head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Britt is ready to become a three-down defensive player in 2024, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Britt has also demonstrated a better grasp of the mental part of the game, according to Bowles. The 24-year-old recorded 29 tackles (16 solo) and one pass defensed last season. He looks poised to take on a bigger role in the upcoming campaign, likely as a starter at inside linebacker next to Lavonte David.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Breaks out in divisional-round loss
Britt recorded 12 tackles (seven solo), including one for loss, in the Buccaneers' 31-23 divisional-round loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Britt was the surprise runner-up in tackles on the night for the Buccaneers, trailing only Lavonte David's 13 stops. The third-year pro's numbers were all the more surprising considering he filled a rotational role for the third time in as many pro seasons in 2023, posting 29 tackles (16 solo) and one defensed pass over 16 games. Britt, a 2021 fifth-round pick, heads into the final year of his rookie contract in 2024 and could have an inside track on replacing Devin White next season if the latter is allowed to walk in free agency.

Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Could return for wild card
Britt (calf) is listed as questionable ahead of Monday night's game against the Eagles.
Britt seems to be trending in the right direction to play in the wild-card round, as he's gone from opening the Buccaneers' week of practice with a DNP to a full session Saturday. If the 24-year-old is able to suit up Monday night, he'd likely serve as Tampa Bay's top reserve inside linebacker.

Britt (calf) is inactive for Sunday's regular-season finale against Carolina.
Britt is dealing with a calf injury that surfaced late in the week and held him to a limited practice session Friday. Buccaneers' K.J. Britt: Downgraded to doubtful
Britt (calf) has been downgraded to doubtful ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
The third-year linebacker was a late addition to the Buccaneers' injury report, as he popped up as a limited participant in Friday's practice due to a calf issue. As it gets closer to Sunday, it seems increasingly likely that Britt won't be available for Tampa Bay. J.J. Russell could see increased opportunities as a reserve in the Buccaneers' linebacker corps if Britt is out in Week 18.
