Jets' C.J. Mosley: Estimated as DNP
Mosley (toe) was listed as non-participant on Monday's practice estimation, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Mosley left Sunday's win over the Titans with a toe injury, and after Monday's DNP estimation, he could be in jeopardy of missing more time. However, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters Monday morning that he's optimistic that Mosely will suit up for Thursday night's divisional matchup with the Patriots. If Mosley needs more time to recover by Thursday, Chazz Surratt and Sam Eguavoen to see increased work with New York's first-team defense.

Jets' C.J. Mosley: Still optimistic
Head coach Robert Saleh remains optimistic that Mosley (toe) will be able to play Thursday against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mosley left Sunday's win over the Titans in the second quarter and was unable to return. With a short week ahead, the veteran linebacker will need to make a quick recovery, but it may be worth noting he's only missed one game in the previous three seasons.

Mosley injured his right foot during Sunday's game against the Titans and is questionable to return.
Mosley sustained the injury early in the second quarter in what appeared to be a noncontact injury, per Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record. Mosley was checked out by trainers on the sidelines before being carted to the locker room, per Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site. Chazz Surratt figures to be the next man up at middle linebacker for the Jets while Mosley is sidelined.

Jets' C.J. Mosley: Hopeful to play Thursday
Head coach Robert Saleh said after Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans that he's hopeful that Mosley (toe) will be able to return for Thursday's game against the Patriots, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Mosley left in the second quarter of Sunday's game with what was originally reported as a foot injury. He was carted back to the locker room, where additional tests revealed he sustained an injury to the big toe on his right foot. Mosley returned to the Jets' sideline, but he did not go back into Sunday's game. Mosley's presence will be sorely needed for Thursday's AFC East showdown with starting pass rusher Jermaine Johnson feared to have sustained a season-ending torn Achilles injury during Sunday's win.

Mosley recorded nine total tackles (eight solo) during Monday night's 32-19 loss to the 49ers.
Mosley tied D.J. Reed for the second-most total tackles on the Jets in Week 1, falling short of Tyler Adams' 12-tackle performance. The veteran inside linebacker inked a new two-year, $17.25 million deal with the Jets this past offseason after racking up 152 total tackles and defending seven passes, including one interception, across 17 regular-season games in 2023. Jets' C.J. Mosley: Agrees to rework deal
Mosley signed a new two-year, $17.25 million contract with the Jets on Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Mosley was set to account for $21.5 million against the cap in 2024, but his new deal will save the team at least $8 million in space. As part of his new agreement, Mosley will receive an extra year on his contract, including $13.25 million in guaranteed salary.

Mosley finished the 2023 season with 152 tackles (81 solo) and seven passes defensed.
Mosley's season totals included one interception and 0.5 sacks. The veteran linebacker showed no signs of slowing down at age 31, exceeding 150 tackles for a third consecutive campaign. Mosley has posted either seven or eight passes defensed in six of nine NFL seasons. The Jets may restructure Mosley's contract to bring down his $21.5 million cap hit in 2024, but he's likely to return as a key figure on one of the league's best defenses next season.

Mosley recorded eight tackles (four solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in Thursday's 37-20 loss at Cleveland.
Early in the second quarter, Mosley punched the ball out of the arms of David Njoku in the open field and stuck with the play to eventually come up with the loose football. He also tallied eight-plus tackles for the 10th time over 16 games this season. The Jets travel to New England in Week 18.

Mosley tied his season high in tackles and posted one tackle for loss. Of his 115 tackles in 2023, only four have come behind the line of scrimmage, and the veteran linebacker remains stuck on half a sack. Despite his lack of splashy plays, Mosley's on pace to exceed his career high of 168 tackles, set in 2021.
