Johnthan Banks: Let go by Texans
The Texans cut Banks on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
The Texans' secondary depth is relatively deep, which ultimately led to Banks being the odd man out. The 28-year-old logged 10 tackles (three solo) in three games with the team.

Johnthan Banks: Expected to sign with Houston
Banks (leg) is expected to sign with the Texans after working out for the team Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Texans have a need at cornerback after losing Kevin Johnson for an estimated four to six weeks due to a Grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his knee. Banks has played four years in the NFL, totaling 136 tackles, 17 passes defensed and seven interceptions with one touchdown.

Texans' Johnthan Banks: Reaches deal with Houston
Banks signed a contract with the Texans on Wednesday.
A second-round pick out of Mississippi State in 2013, Banks never met expectations during parts of four seasons with the Buccaneers, Bears and Lions. That said, at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, Banks brings intriguing size at cornerback and will offer some depth in the secondary with the Texans unlikely to have Kevin Johnson (knee) available for the next four to six weeks.

Bears' Johnthan Banks: Out of action Saturday
Banks (leg) will not suit up for Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Banks played in nine games last season, recording just six tackles and one pass breakup for three different teams. He's currently competing for a role on special teams, but it is yet to be seen whether this injury will be a long-term issue.
