CBs Shawntae Spencer and Ron Bartell, two key free agent pickups, have been working with the first-team defense – Bartell on the left side and Spencer the right – during OTAs. DeMarcus Van Dyke and Chimdi Chekwa, second-year pros, are running second team. Bartell and Spencer have started a combined 136 NFL games. Van Dyke started four games and Chekwa one last year.
