Coach Tom Coughlin told the NFL Network that WR Hakeem Nicks broke his foot running a hook patter in Thursday’s OTA. When asked if Nicks, who will undergo surgery in North Carolina on Friday, will be able to play in the Sept. 5 opener, Coughlin said it’s “going to be close.” He added that the team doctors expect the broken fifth metatarsal to heal “very well.”
