DL coach Robert Nunn has been happy with DT Marvin Austin -- who hasn’t played since 2009 because of an NCAA suspension and a torn pectoral muscle -- but said it’s hard to tell until fully padded practices begin in training camp. “The quickness and the burst that you saw back when he was at North Carolina is there,” Nunn said, adding that Austin has shown a knowledge of the defense.
