76ers' Tyrese Maxey: To be re-evaluated in one week
Maxey sustained a right hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
Maxey suffered the hamstring strain during Wednesday's loss to the Clippers and will miss at least one week. There is a good chance the star guard misses additional time, as Shams Charania of ESPN reported that the point guard would miss a couple of weeks. Jared McCain, Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson are all candidates for an increased role while Maxey works his way back to playing form.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Out multiple weeks
The 76ers announced Thursday that Maxey is expected to miss a couple of weeks due to a right hamstring injury, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Maxey injured his right hamstring during Wednesday's game versus the Clippers. Although a full evaluation will come later in the day Thursday, the star guard is expected to be sidelined for an extended period. In Maxey's absence, Jared McCain, Kyle Lowry and Reggie Jackson are all candidates to receive increased playing time.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Won't return Wednesday
Maxey has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Clippers due to right hamstring soreness, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. He'll finish with 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes.
Maxey was replaced by Jared McCain to start the fourth quarter, and it's now known he's dealing with hamstring soreness. Per Aaronson, Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse called Maxey's removal "precautionary" and didn't seem concerned about the injury. The 24-year-old has been utilized heavily to start the season as Paul George and Joel Embiid (knee/suspension) were unavailable, averaging 41 minutes per game prior to Wednesday's tilt. McCain and Kyle Lowry figure to see a bump in playing time while Maxey is sidelined. Maxey's next chance to play will come Friday against the Lakers.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Pops for team-high 32 on Monday
Maxey closed Monday's 118-116 loss to the Suns with 32 points (12-22 FG, 6-14 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 41 minutes.
The fifth-year guard topped 30 points for the third time in the last four games, but even with Paul George making his 76ers debut, Maxey didn't get quite enough help to steal a win on the road. Maxey's usage should decline once George is up to speed and Joel Embiid (knee) is back in action as well. However, Maxey has taken full advantage of his spot as Philadelphia's lead dog so far, averaging what would be a career-high 30.2 points per game to begin the 2024-25 campaign.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Another strong outing
Maxey amassed 32 points (12-25 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 105-95 loss to the Pistons.
With Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) both out, Maxey has taken over as the 76ers' top option on offense. Maxey has used that increased workload to score at least 30 points in back-to-back games. The 24-year-old guard is averaging 31.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 42.0 minutes across four appearances this season, albeit on 37.8/22.9/81.6 shooting splits.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Explodes for 45 points in win
Maxey produced 45 points (14-32 FG, 5-17 3Pt, 12-15 FT), four rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 48 minutes during Sunday's 118-114 overtime win over Indiana.
Maxey tallied only seven points in the first half while shooting 2-for-6 from the field. However, the 23-year-old scored at a high volume in the second half and helped the club secure the overtime victory. Through three regular-season outings, Maxey has three games with 24-plus points, though he has struggled with efficiency as the clear No. 1 option with Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) sidelined.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Woeful shooting display
Maxey had 24 points (6-23 FG, 2-12 3Pt, 10-12 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 41 minutes during Friday's 115-107 loss to the Raptors.
The Sixers have started the season with back-to-back losses, and while Maxey has posted solid numbers from a fantasy perspective, managers who drafted him didn't expect him to attempt over 20 shots per game while shooting a meager 27 percent from the field. Small sample size applies here, and the situation will be different once Paul George (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee) are back in the mix, but for the time being, Maxey should continue to rack up points and tons of shots per game.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Scores 25 in loss Wednesday
Maxey had 25 points (10-31 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 124-109 loss to the Bucks.
The 76ers were without Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) for their season opener, so it wasn't surprising to see Maxey operating as the team's go-to threat on offense. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, Maxey lacked support from his teammates. The guard has proven he can lead an offense. Maxey should experience a boost in fantasy value while Embiid and George are out.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Healthy ahead of regular season
Coach Nick Nurse said Sunday that Maxey (thumb) is "okay" and was only pulled from Friday's preseason matchup against the Magic as a precautionary measure, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Maxey logged five minutes before being pulled due to a right thumb contusion Friday. However, the 23-year-old is expected to be fully healthy ahead of Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Bucks and should not face a minutes restriction to begin the season.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Won't return Friday
Maxey is dealing with a right thumb contusion and won't return to Friday's preseason game against the Magic, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. He finishes the game scoreless (0-1 FG) and with one assist in five minutes.
The 76ers are being extremely cautious with their star players and aren't going to risk Maxey in a meaningless preseason game. The star guard will sit out the rest of the contest with the focus of being 100 percent healthy for the regular-season opener against Milwaukee next Wednesday.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Dishes seven dimes vs. Hawks
Maxey finished Monday's 104-89 preseason win over the Hawks with 14 points (5-18 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven assists, two rebounds and two steals across 26 minutes.
Maxey struggled with his efficiency from the field Monday, but he was able to make that up by leading the team in assists. Maxey is coming off his first All-Star selection during the 2023-24 regular season, during which he averaged a career-high 25.9 points per game along with 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 37.5 minutes per game over 70 contests. Maxey could see increased duties at the start of the 2024-25 regular season if Paul George -- who suffered a left knee injury during Monday's contest -- were to miss time.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Will play Monday
Maxey (rest) will start in Monday's preseason contest against the Hawks.
Maxey, Paul George and Kelly Oubre are all back in action after resting during Saturday's matchup against the Celtics, which was the second night of a back-to-back set. Maxey posted 21 points (7-14 FG) in 26 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to Minnesota.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Not expected to suit up Saturday
Maxey is not in the starting five for Saturday's preseason matchup against the Celtics, and he is not expected to play due to rest purposes.
Coach Nick Nurse said Saturday that the 76ers will rest their vets on the second day of a back-to-back road trip, according to Celtics beat reporter Bobby Krivitsky. The 23-year-old's next chance to suit up will be Monday against the Hawks.

76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Puts up 21 points in loss
Maxey finished with 21 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two assists and a steal across 26 minutes in Friday's 121-111 preseason loss to the Timberwolves.
Maxey was one of two Philadelphia starters who reached the 20-point mark, with Paul George being the other, and this game was a fair display of how the 76ers offense would look without Joel Embiid. Maxey seems to be playing better with each passing game in the preseason, and he should be ready to go once the 76ers open their regular season against the Bucks on Oct. 23.
