Mavericks' Theo Pinson: Submits triple-double in finale

Pinson amassed 23 points (8-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, 12 assists and one steal in 40 minutes during Sunday's 138-117 loss to San Antonio.
While Dallas held most of its key rotation options out for the season finale, Pinson got the chance to make his first career start. The fifth-year player took full advantage of the opportunity, rolling to his first career triple-double while setting season highs in all three categories. Though he heads into free agency this summer with some momentum, Pinson may have difficulty seizing hold of a regular spot in an NBA rotation no matter whether he re-signs with Dallas or continues his career elsewhere.

Pinson closed with two rebounds, one assist and one steal in six minutes during Thursday's 142-116 win over the Spurs.
Heading into the All-Star break, Pinson played double-digit minutes in six straight games, posting 3.8 points, 2.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds during that stretch. However, with Dallas close to full strength following the extended layoff, Pinson's role was severely diminished. The Mavericks obviously like having Pinson available when they are shorthanded, but even when he's seen increased playing time, he's failed to crack fantasy relevancy. Barring numerous injuries, Pinson can safely be ignored in most leagues.
Pinson finished Friday's 127-99 victory over the Nuggets with one rebound in four minutes.
Pinson made an appearance for just the third time this season as the Mavericks dominated an undermanned Nuggets lineup. However, Pinson was not able to make it onto the scoresheet, managing just one rebound in his four minutes. As a player who typically remains fixed to the bench, Pinson can be left on the wire in all formats.
Pinson agreed to a one-year deal with the Mavericks on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
After appearing in just 19 contests with the Mavericks last year due to injuries, Pinson has agreed to come back to Dallas. While this move helps the Mavericks fill out their roster, the UNC product is not someone to target in any fantasy format.
