  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Grabs second win

Kremer (2-2) picked up the win Wednesday over the Guardians, allowing one run on four hits and a walk across 5.1 innings. He struck out two. Kremer was effective Wednesday, with the lone run against him coming on a Gabriel Arias home run in the third inning. It's a strong bounce-back effort from the 29-year-old Kremer, who allowed six runs on three homers in his previous outing versus Arizona. Kremer will carry a 6.41 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB into his next start, currently scheduled for next week in Washington.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Another rough outing

Kremer (1-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing six runs on eight hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out four. Kremer fell victim to the long ball Wednesday, giving up three home runs, including back-to-back blasts to Pavin Smith and Josh Naylor in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old Kremer has struggled to an 8.16 ERA through his first three starts (14.1 innings) while posting a 1.67 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB. Kremer will look to get on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against Cleveland.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Inefficient in Friday's loss

Kremer (1-1) took the loss Friday as the Orioles fell 8-2 to the Royals, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out one without walking a batter. The right-hander didn't allow a lot of hard contact -- the only extra-base hit off Kremer was a Salvador Perez double in the first inning -- but his pitch count ran up to 88 (63 strikes) before he was lifted, and he was far from dominant with only five swinging strikes. Kremer will carry a 6.52 ERA and 7:2 K:BB through 9.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Arizona.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Picks up win vs. Blue Jays

Kremer (1-0) got the win over Toronto on Saturday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings, striking out six in the Orioles' 9-5 win. Kremer was shaky out of the gate, allowing three consecutive hits to open the game and two runs in the first inning. He gave up a two-run homer to Andres Gimenez in the third inning and allowed another run in the fifth, but Baltimore's offense had plenty of firepower, and Kremer scratched out the win. The righty produced a 4.10 ERA in 2024 and a 4.12 ERA the year before and profiles as a solid middle-of-the-rotation arm for a playoff contender in Baltimore. He is tentatively lined up for a road start against Kansas City next week.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Hit hard in Grapefruit League start

Kremer gave up six runs on six hits and two walks while taking the loss in Friday's Grapefruit League game against Detroit, striking out three over three innings. It was a struggle for Kremer, who served up three home runs Friday and hasn't looked particularly sharp in the Grapefruit League. Over three appearances (two starts) this spring, the 29-year-old right-hander has a 9.00 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and an 8:5 K:BB across eight frames. Kremer posted an unimpressive 4.10 ERA over 129.2 innings (24 starts) in 2024, but he still appears to be locked into a spot in Baltimore's rotation to begin 2025, as Grayson Rodriguez (triceps) is slated to start the season on the injured list.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Avoids arbitration

The Orioles and Kremer avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.95 million contract Thursday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Kremer had been eligible for arbitration for the first time. The right-hander collected a 4.10 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 123:51 K:BB across 129.2 frames covering 24 regular-season starts with the Orioles in 2024 and will be part of their rotation again in 2025.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Fans seven in loss

Kremer (7-10) took the loss Wednesday against San Francisco, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks across six innings. He struck out seven. Kremer yielded solo home runs to Mike Yastrzemski and Michael Conforto in the first and sixth innings, respectively, snapping a streak of six consecutive starts without allowing a long ball. Kremer also punched out seven batters for a third straight appearance. On the year, Kremer has a 4.19 ERA and a 120:49 K:BB across 124.2 innings. His next start is scheduled to come against the Yankees.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Gets little support in no-decision

Kremer allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Boston on Wednesday. Kremer didn't get much support in this one -- the first run he gave up scored on a throwing error, and the Orioles managed just one run on offense while he was in the game. However, the right-hander kept his team in the contest, tossing seven strong innings while throwing 70 of 103 pitches for strikes. This was the first time Kremer completed seven frames since April 30, and the quality start was his fifth in his past six outings. He's posted a 2.62 ERA with a 32:13 K:BB during that span.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Unlikely for next start

Kremer (forearm) played catch Tuesday but is unlikely to make his next scheduled start, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports. Kremer had to be removed from his last outing Saturday in Colorado after being struck on the right forearm by a liner. The swelling has subsided enough to allow Kremer to throw, but it sounds like he will not be ready for his next turn Friday against the Rays. The Orioles have an off day Thursday, so they could push everyone up a day. Giving a spot start to Cole Irvin or another pitcher is also an option.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Exits game with forearm injury

Kremer left Saturday's game against the Rockies in the fourth inning due to a right forearm injury, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Kremer took a line drive to his right wrist off the bat of Jordan Beck, and the 28-year-old pitcher was replaced by Keegan Akin. Kremer exited the contest having allowed four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings. His next start is tentatively slated for the Orioles' weekend series against the Rays starting Sept. 6.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Posts quality start Sunday

Kremer allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Astros. He did not factor into the decision. Kremer held the Astros scoreless through three innings before they rallied for three runs against him in the fourth with five hits in the inning. Otherwise, Kremer posted a strong outing and put together his third straight quality start. The 28-year-old allowed nine runs in 9.1 innings in his first two starts this month but has rebounded with just five runs allowed over his last 18 innings. For the year, Kremer owns a 4.31 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 96:43 K:BB in 102.1 innings. He lines up to face the Rockies on the road over the weekend his next time out.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Takes eighth loss

Kremer (4-8) yielded four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings Friday, striking out two and taking a loss against Cleveland. Kremer gave up a pair of runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth. He's 0-4 with a 5.40 ERA over his last five starts, completing at least six innings just once during that span. Kremer hasn't earned a win since July 3 when he returned from a stint on the injured list. He now owns a 4.39 ERA with a 75:31 K:BB through 15 starts and his next outing is currently lined up to be in Toronto.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Can't escape fifth inning

Kremer did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against the Yankees. He struck out four. Kremer entered the fifth inning in relatively good shape with a 2-1 lead but allowed a leadoff homer to Trent Grisham, then allowed two more batters to reach base, including a two-out walk to Aaron Judge that spelled the end to his day. Sunday represented Kremer's third start since returning from a triceps issue, and he's been held to 83-to-85 pitches while failing to make it past the fifth in all of those outings. He'll enter the All-Star break with a 4.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 64 strikeouts over 63.2 innings.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Roughed up in loss

Kremer (4-5) took the loss Tuesday against Chicago, allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three. Kremer allowed a run in each of his four innings Tuesday, with the three-run homer served up to Ian Happ in the fourth being the crucial blow. It was Kremer's second start since coming off the IL (triceps), and the veteran continues to be plagued by the long ball, particularly at home. He's given up multiple home runs in four of his five starts at Camden Yards this season. His nine homers allowed overall in that span are the most by an Orioles pitcher since Chris Tillman in 2009. Kremer is scheduled for one more start before the All-Star break, Sunday against the Yankees.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Struggles again in rehab start

Kremer (triceps) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in his third rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. He struck out five batters. Kremer got his pitch count up to 75 and looks ready to return from the 15-day injured list from a workload standpoint, but it's unclear if Baltimore is keen on slotting him back into the rotation while he's largely struggled during the minor-league assignment. The right-hander has posted an 11.42 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 8.2 innings across his three starts. He's been out since late May with a right triceps strain.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Another rehab start Thursday

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that Kremer (tricep) will make another rehab start Thursday at Triple-A Norfolk, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. Kremer struggled in his second rehab outing this past Saturday with Norfolk, allowing five runs while recording just two outs. He got his pitch count to 59 in his first rehab start but was pulled from the second outing after throwing just 39 pitches due to a stressful first inning. It's possible Kremer will be ready to return from the 15-day injured list next week, though that decision depends on how he looks Thursday and how much he can get stretched out. The righty has been out since late May with a right triceps strain.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Goes 3.2 innings in rehab start

Kremer (tricep) struck out three and allowed five runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk over 3.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Norfolk. Kremer spotted 37 of his 59 pitches in the rehab outing, his first since he was placed on the 15-day injured list May 21 with a right tricep strain. The Orioles haven't decided on Kremer's next step, but since teams typically want rehabbing starters to hit the 70-to-75-pitch mark prior to being activated, the right-hander could be in line for one more start with Norfolk or another affiliate during the upcoming week.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Throws bullpen session

Kremer (triceps) threw a light bullpen session Monday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. It's the first time Kremer has thrown a bullpen since being placed on the injured list May 21 due to a right triceps strain. The 28-year-old right-hander is eligible to return from the IL on June 5, though general manager Mike Elias noted Monday that Kremer will need a rehab assignment before returning to the majors. Before his injury, Kremer posted a 3-4 record over nine starts with a 4.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 50 innings.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Punches out 10

Kremer (3-3) took the loss Sunday against Arizona, allowing six runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out 10. Kremer notched double-digit strikeouts for the second time this season, tying his career high in the category. He fell off after retiring the first nine batters he faced, allowing at least two baserunners in each of the following innings before getting the yank in the sixth. He was pulled after allowing a two-run homer to Jake McCarthy and walking Kevin Newman consecutively. Despite having allowed nine homers in 46.0 innings this season, Kremer owns a solid 3.72 ERA and a 47:15 K:BB. Kremer's next start is scheduled to come Saturday against Seattle.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Hit with second loss

Kremer (0-2) took the loss Friday against Kansas City, allowing three earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three batters across 5.2 frames. Kremer held Baltimore off the scoreboard until Vinnie Pasquantino took him deep during the fourth inning. The score was still 1-0 when Kremer left the game in the sixth with two runners on base - both of whom came around to score - and a failed late rally by the Orioles' offense forced the right-hander to take his second loss of the young season. His performance Friday was certainly better than his previous outing against Milwaukee, and he's lined up for another chance to pick up his first win Wednesday against the Angels.
