  • Reds' Chase Burns: Moving up to Triple-A

    Burns is being promoted to Triple-A Louisville. Burns will make the jump to Triple-A after posting an impressive 1.29 ERA and 0.71 WHIP with 55 strikeouts over 42 innings in eight starts with Double-A Chattanooga. The right-hander is not only one of the top prospects in the Reds' farm system, but one of the top prospects in all of baseball. It seems likely that Burns will make his major-league debut this summer, but he'll have to prove himself at one final level before doing so.

  • Reds' Chase Burns: Dominant in Double-A shutout

    Burns allowed three hits and struck out six in a complete-game, seven-inning shutout victory for Double-A Chattanooga on Saturday. Burns was masterful in retiring the first 17 batters he faced before allowing three singles over his final 1.1 innings. The Reds' top pitching prospect was still hitting 98 mph in his final frame, per Jesse Borek and Cole Winetraub of MLB.com. The right-hander has walked just four batters over 42 innings since his promotion to Double-A and owns a combined 75:9 K:BB on the season.

  • Reds' Chase Burns: Thriving at Double-A

    Burns allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over five innings for Double-A Chattanooga on Thursday. The Wake Forest product allowed a home run to the unheralded Jaylen Palmer but otherwise overmatched Knoxville batters. Burnes matched a professional high of eight strikeouts and retired six of the last seven batters he faced. In three starts since a promotion from High-A Dayton, the right-hander has a 1.93 ERA and 21:2 K:BB across 14 innings for the Lookouts.

    Burns is being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports. Burns will move up a level after he produced a 3.09 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 11.2 innings in three starts with High-A Dayton. The right-hander is one of the Reds' top overall prospects, and the 2024 first-round pick is now one step closer to fulfilling his major-league dreams.

    The Reds have extended Burns an invitation to big-league camp during spring training. Burns has yet to make his professional debut after being taken with the second pick of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, but the Reds will give the young right-hander a look-see in spring training.
