Rodriguez is undergoing tests for forearm discomfort after leaving his start for Triple-A Nashville early Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. This is an ominous sign for Rodriguez, who was making his first appearance Thursday after saving the MLB staff by coming back in to pitch after nearly a two-hour rain delay May 22.... See More ... Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Set for big-league start this week
The Brewers are expected to promote Rodriguez from Triple-A Nashville later this week to make a start during the club's four-game series in Pittsburgh that begins Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Milwaukee optioned Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, and neither Aaron Civale (hamstring) nor Jose Quintana (shoulder) are expected to be activated from the injured list until next week, so Rodriguez looks on track to fill the open spot in the big-league rotation. Rodriguez reached the majors for the first time in 2024 and labored over his three starts with the Brewers, submitting a 7.30 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across 12.1 innings. However, the 23-year-old righty has been excellent through his nine starts with Nashville this season (1.99 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 49:15 K:BB in 45.1 innings), and his presence on the 40-man roster looks like it will play a factor in him getting a call-up over right-hander Jacob Misiorowski.... Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Candidate to start Friday
Rodriguez was spotted in the Brewers' clubhouse prior to Thursday's game against the Reds and could be recalled from Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The team has made no official transaction with Rodriguez. However, it doesn't have a probable pitcher listed for Friday's game versus the Reds and Rodriguez would be a candidate to either start that game or be available in long relief. Rodriguez yielded one unearned run with a 7:1 K:BB over five innings in his first start of the season with Nashville and would be on six days' rest Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Sent down to minors
The Brewers optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Rodriguez might not have made the Opening Day roster no matter how well he pitched this spring, but he didn't do himself any favors in getting touched up for eight runs over 4.2 frames in Cactus League action. The 23-year-old will represent rotation depth at Nashville.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Carlos F. Rodriguez: Drops second straight start
Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss against the Angels on Monday, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings. Rodriguez's second big-league outing went about as poorly as his first -- he gave up two fewer hits but twice as many earned runs while failing to complete five frames. The right-hander did make it through two innings unscathed, but he was stung by a three-run third before serving up a two-run homer in the fourth. Rodriguez has given up six earned runs across 8.1 frames over his two starts, and he could be pushed back to the minors if Jakob Junis (shoulder) returns to the big club this week, as expected.... Brewers' Carlos F. Rodriguez: Takes loss in debut
Rodriguez (0-1) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Blue Jays. Rodriguez threw 43 of 71 pitches for strikes in his major-league debut, which saw the Brewers fail to give him any run support. The 22-year-old right-hander was able to show off a little bit of his strikeout upside and managed to limit walks well, but the Blue Jays were opportunistic with their swings in the low-scoring game. With Robert Gasser (elbow) facing a season-ending injury, it's possible Rodriguez remains in the rotation going forward, though that may depend on how the Brewers want to deploy Jakob Junis (shoulder) once he's cleared to return from the 60-day injured list.... Brewers' Carlos F. Rodriguez: Expected to debut Tuesday
The Brewers are expected to select Rodriguez's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday and have him start against the Blue Jays in Milwaukee, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Desperate for starters with Joe Ross (back), Robert Gasser (elbow), Jakob Junis (shoulder) and DL Hall (knee) all on the injured list, the Brewers will call upon the 22-year-old Rodriguez to fill the opening in their rotation created by Aaron Ashby's demotion to Triple-A. Rodriguez has spent all season with Nashville and got off to a rough start, but he has turned in a 2.83 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through 35 innings since the beginning of May. The right-hander will be making his MLB debut against a Blue Jays offense that currently ranks 20th in the majors with a .680 OPS.... See More ... See Less

The Brewer Nation@BrewerNation3H agoIn the meantime, the #Brewers announced the roster moves to add tonight's starter: • Jacob Misiorowski's contract selected from Triple-A Nashville • Easton McGee optioned to open a 26-man roster spot • Brandon Woodruff transferred to the 60-day IL for the 40-man spot
-
The Brewer Nation@BrewerNation3H agoThe #Brewers could also use a Civale trade to bolster their overworked bullpen with another undervalued arm they identify.
-
The Brewer Nation@BrewerNation3H agoThe clearest MLB need for the #Brewers is a bat to live on the left side of the infield. Who has time to figure out which teams have expendable left side MLB/AAA bats and, of those, which needs a mid-rotation upgrade like Civale? (I can look after tonight's game.)
-
The Brewer Nation@BrewerNation3H agoUnder normal circumstances, I might be annoyed that Civale's agent is sabotaging the #Brewers' leverage, but no one should have expected Civale to want to shift to a relief role with free agency looming (let alone his solid results while starting.)

Adam McCalvy@AdamMcCalvy1D agoWith Jacob Misiorowski joining the rotation, the Brewers plan to use Aaron Civale out of the bullpen, per Pat Murphy. “It's not necessarily he hasn't been pitching well, because he has been. It's just think that we think he's the best candidate to be able to do it right now.”

Adam McCalvy@AdamMcCalvy1D agoJacob Misiorowski has arrived in the big leagues. Here’s how he got here, and how the Brewers might fit him into a rotation that has been a strength despite so many moving parts. https://t.co/DgBMReWgZ7

The Brewer Nation@BrewerNation2D ago#Brewers Win! Final: 4-1! W: Priester (4-2) S: Megill (13) A two-run dinger by Chourio was enough, but a solo HR from Bauers and a drawn walk with the bases loaded also count. Priester was excellent through 6.0 IP, and Uribe (2.0 IP) and Megill locked it down from there.
-
Adam McCalvy@AdamMcCalvy2D agoThe Brewers are pretty good when they hit dingers. After Jackson Chourio and Jake Bauers went deep in tonight's 4-1 win over the Braves, the Brewers are 26-13 when they hit a homer and 10-19 when they don't.
