  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Heading back to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Henderson to Triple-A Nashville on Monday. Henderson has gotten off to a brilliant start to his MLB career, going 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 21 innings across his first four starts. However, he just pitched Sunday, and the Brewers have decided they are in immediate need of length in the bullpen heading into this week's series against the Red Sox. DL Hall (lat) was activated from the 60-day injured list to take Henderson's spot on the active roster.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Strong showing in no-decision

Henderson did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out six. The rookie right-hander surrendered a solo homer to Oneil Cruz but otherwise scattered four singles and two walks. Henderson exited with a 3-1 lead but missed out on his fourth straight victory as the Brewers bullpen promptly squandered the advantage. Still, the 23-year-old has been nearly flawless in his first four MLB starts with a 1.71 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB across 21 innings. Henderson will have a tough task for his next turn through the rotation, however, as he lines up for a road matchup with the Phillies.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Three-start win streak

Henderson (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Orioles after allowing two hits and two walks in five scoreless innings. He struck out seven. Henderson scattered two singles while tossing at least five innings and allowing two runs or fewer in his third consecutive start to begin his major-league career. The rookie right-hander registered an impressive 20 whiffs Tuesday, and he's now punched out at least seven in each of his first three outings. Henderson boasts a 1.69 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB over 16 frames, giving him plenty of fantasy appeal in his next scheduled start against a Pirates team that has a miserable .561 OPS through 18 games in May.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Recalled ahead of start

The Brewers recalled Henderson from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. Henderson will start Wednesday's contest in Cleveland. The rookie right-hander was dynamite in a spot start in his major-league debut last month against the Athletics, tossing six innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts. Wednesday's outing is likely to be just a spot start for Henderson, but it's possible he could convince the Brewers to keep him around if he pitches well.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Starting Wednesday for big club

Henderson will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday in Cleveland, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. With Tobias Myers back at Triple-A and Jose Quintana (shoulder) getting pushed back, there was a spot open for Henderson this week. There are a lot of moving parts in Milwaukee, with Brandon Woodruff (ankle/shoulder) and Aaron Civale (hamstring) potentially nearing returns, so this could just be a spot start for Henderson. However, he struck out nine while allowing three hits and a walk over six frames in his big-league debut April 20 at home against the Athletics, so if Henderson logs another strong start, perhaps he could stick around.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Could draw start Wednesday

Henderson is a candidate to be called up from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The Brewers optioned Tobias Myers to Nashville over the weekend and are pushing Jose Quintana (shoulder) back a few days in the pitching schedule, creating a need for a spot starter Wednesday. Henderson would be on five days' rest that day and was superb in a spot start last month in his major-league debut, tossing six innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts versus the Athletics on April 20. Since rejoining Nashville, Henderson has made three starts and has turned in a 1.69 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in 16 innings.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Called up to majors

The Brewers recalled Henderson from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Henderson is one of the Brewers' top pitching prospects and could be in line to make a start for an injury-riddled Milwaukee rotation at some point this week. Quinn Priester and Jose Quintana are currently penciled in for Tuesday and Wednesday before the team hosts the Athletics over the weekend. In order to make room for Henderson, the Brewers optioned Elvin Rodriguez to Triple-A after he fired five innings of relief during Monday's 9-1 loss to the Tigers.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Opens year on IL

Henderson (oblique) will open the year on the injured list with High-A Wisconsin, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports. Henderson, a righty, exited a March 17 Spring Breakout game with left oblique discomfort. He displayed increased velocity this spring prior to the injury, but we will have to wait a few weeks before seeing if he can hold that mid-90s fastball velocity deep into starts. Last year, Henderson had a 2.75 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 106:26 K:BB in 78.2 innings as a command specialist with low-90s fastball and a plus changeup at Single-A.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Leaves game early Sunday

Henderson left Sunday's Spring Breakout game versus Kansas City due to left oblique discomfort, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Henderson began his outing by giving up a solo home run to Royals prospect Trevor Werner. Henderson then faced a second batter but was taken out of the game when the trainer went out to the mound after he threw a pitch.

  • Brewers' Logan Henderson: Held back to manage innings

Henderson is being held back in extended spring training in an effort to manage his workload this season, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports. Henderson was limited to 13.2 innings in the lower minors late last season after undergoing elbow surgery in spring training, so he wasn't going to be able to pitch a full season this year anyway. He is currently pitching in extended spring training and will reportedly join a rotation at Single-A or High-A later this spring.
