Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Allows one run over seven frames
Rotowire
Bibee didn't factor in the decision Tuesday against the Twins despite giving up one run on five hits and no walks across seven innings. He struck out five.
The right-hander had little trouble dispatching Minnesota outside the fifth inning, which is when Ty France knotted the game 1-1 with a solo homer. Bibee threw 64 of 92 pitches for strikes, and the improved command was a welcome sight with it being the first time through six starts this year that he didn't walk a batter. The long ball continues to be a concern as he's already given up nine homers, but Bibee is trending up with just three runs allowed in his past two starts.

Rotowire
Bibee (2-2) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks over six innings Tuesday, striking out five and earning a win over the Yankees.
Bibee was taken deep by Ben Rice on the first pitch of the game, but the Yankees didn't plate another run until Jazz Chisholm's sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Bibee picked up his first win since his season debut March 30; he was 0-2 with an 8.16 ERA in three starts between wins. The 26-year-old threw 70 of 106 pitches for strikes but forced only four whiffs. Bibee now owns a 5.19 ERA with a 20:14 K:BB through 26 innings. He's projected to face the Twins at home next week.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Takes no-decision Friday
Rotowire
Bibee didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 7-0 win over Kansas City, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 shutout innings.
Bibee needed to retire just one more batter to qualify for his second win of the season, but after walking Bobby Witt in the fifth inning, the right-hander's pitch count had already climbed to 96. The Guardians decided to pull him early for Tim Herrin, who collected the final out of the frame and went on to take home the win. Bibee now sits on a 4.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP entering his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come in Baltimore next week -- though all of the damage was done in one particularly poor outing against the Angels.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Picks up first win
Rotowire
Bibee (1-0) allowed two hits and two walks over 5.2 shutout innings Sunday, striking out two and earning a win over the Royals.
Bibee was in line to be Cleveland's Opening Day starter, but an illness pushed his start back a few days. He coughed up a couple of extra-base knocks Sunday but was able to skate around danger in the scoreless performance. While the two punchouts and nine whiffs are a bit disappointing, the 26-year-old righty picked up where he left off last year after posting a 3.47 ERA across 173.2 regular-season frames. Bibee is lined up for a road matchup against the Angels next weekend.
Bibee signed a five-year, $48 million contract extension with the Guardians on Saturday.
Bibee's new deal will buy out all three of his arbitration years and potentially two years beyond that if the Guardians elect to exercise their club option in 2030. The 26-year-old righty has been one of Cleveland's most reliable starters since reaching the big leagues, turning in a 3.25 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across his two MLB seasons. He's continued to look sharp in spring training, throwing nine shutout innings over his two starts, and he's set to take the mound for Cleveland on Thursday in what will be his first career Opening Day start.
Bibee allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four over six scoreless innings in Monday's Cactus League start against the Reds.
This was just the second Cactus League outing for Bibee, who looked like he's ready to be Cleveland's ace. He's allowed three hits and two walks while striking out seven over nine Cactus League innings. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt has yet to name his Opening Day starter -- Cleveland is one of two teams that have not named one (Arizona is the other) -- but it would be a shock if the right-hander isn't given that honor. Bibee's five-day schedule lines up perfectly for him to get the ball against the Royals on March 27.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Makes first spring start
Rotowire
Bibee allowed two hits and one walk while striking out three over three scoreless innings in Thursday's spring start against Arizona.
Bibee sparkled in an efficient Cactus League debut, throwing 37 pitches (23 strikes). He made himself into the Guardians' ace in 2024 and looked nearly ready to handle that role again Thursday. A key to the right-hander's development was learning to control his emotions on the mound and not letting one adverse event affect him, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. "I think [I'm] definitely a little more under control than last year's spring training," Bibee said. Evidence of that came in his final inning Thursday. After committing a throwing error on a pickoff attempt, Bibee turned his focus to the batter and got Geraldo Perdomo on a called third strike.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: No run support in loss
Rotowire
Bibee (11-7) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings.
Bibee pitched well enough to keep the Guardians in the game but received no help from his offense, as the Guardians were shut out by Jack Flaherty and the Dodgers' bullpen. Bibee blanked them through three frames, but the Dodgers were able to push a run across in the fourth after Mookie Betts led off with a triple and then Shohei Ohtani added on in the fifth with a solo home run. Bibee's now issued eight walks over his last three starts and has reached six innings just once over his last six outings. For the year, he owns a 3.56 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 166:41 K:BB in 154 innings. He lines up to face the Rays at home over the weekend his next time out.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Earns 10th win in return
Rotowire
Bibee (10-4) allowed one run on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to earn the win Sunday over the Twins.
Bibee hadn't pitched since July 29 due to a shoulder issue, but he was able to avoid a stint on the injured list. He came up an out short of a quality start Sunday, throwing 58 of 84 pitches for strikes to earn his 10th win of the year and his third victory in his last four starts. He's at a 3.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 137:31 K:BB through 127.1 innings over 23 starts this season. Assuming he doesn't have a recurrence of the shoulder issue, he's lined up for a road start in Milwaukee next weekend.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Eyeing Sunday return
Rotowire
Bibee (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday and could be cleared to start Sunday in Minnesota, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Bibee's last start came July 29, when he gave up two runs over six innings in a win over the Tigers. He experienced right shoulder discomfort coming out of that outing, and while he's now missed more than a week, Bibee seems to have shown some improvement in recent days and still looks poised to avoid a stint on the injured list. After playing catch earlier in the week, Bibee will take another major step forward in the recovery process when he steps back on the mound Thursday. Assuming Bibee experiences no renewed discomfort after the bullpen session, he should be on track to rejoin the rotation Sunday, though he could be operating under some light restrictions.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Pushed back with tight shoulder
Rotowire
Bibee's next scheduled start will be pushed back a few days due to right shoulder tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
The righty pitched well in picking up a win Monday versus the Tigers but felt some shoulder discomfort after the outing. Bibee had been slated to take the ball Saturday against the Orioles, but that responsibility will now fall to Joey Cantillo. The Guardians have not revealed a target date for Bibee's next start, but they have an opening Monday versus the Diamondbacks that he could fill if he's feeling up to it.

Bibee has paced the Guardians rotation this season with a 3.48 ERA over 121.2 innings. He's scheduled to face the Orioles next in a weekend series at Progressive Field.

Rotowire
Bibee was removed from his start Wednesday against the Tigers due to an apparent right knee injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Bibee needed just 67 pitches to get through five innings of one-run ball, but he seemed to be having issues with his knee while warming up ahead of the sixth frame. His status for his next start -- tentatively slated for Monday in Detroit -- is uncertain.

Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Blanks Friars for eighth win
Rotowire
Bibee (8-4) picked up the win Friday, scattering two hits and three walks over 5.2 innings in a 7-0 victory over the Padres. He struck out three.
San Diego didn't get a runner past second base against Bibee, who got the hook after 102 pitches (67 strikes) just short of his eighth quality start of the season. While this was an encouraging outing after the right-hander gave up eight runs in 11.2 innings over his last two starts before the All-Star break, Bibee has issued multiple walks in three straight trips to the mound, something he hadn't done since April. He'll take a 3.58 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 126:30 K:BB through 110.2 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Tigers.

Rotowire
Bibee allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Royals. He struck out seven.
Bibee allowed just one unearned run through his first five innings, though he'd be charged with two runs in the sixth after allowing the first two batters to reach. Overall, he's 4-1 on the year with a 3.73 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 70 innings. Bibee's currently in line for a road matchup with the Reds in his next outing.
