  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. With a tough lefty (Carlos Rodon) on the hill for New York, the left-handed-hitting Manzardo will get the afternoon off in the series finale. Jose Ramirez will get a day out of the infield and will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter in place of Manzardo, who has gone 6-for-19 with three home runs, two doubles, two walks, seven RBI and four runs over his last five games.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Has RBI in five straight

Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Yankees. Manzardo was in the middle of Cleveland's three-run rally in the sixth inning that erased New York's 2-0 lead. His double plated Nolan Jones to tie the game. It was the fifth consecutive game with an RBI for Manzardo, who's homered three times and knocked in seven over that stretch. The double also extended a hit streak to six games (7-for-22).

Manzardo took southpaw reliever Joey Wentz deep in the seventh inning to stretch Cleveland's lead to 4-1. Manzardo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Pirates. Manzardo gave the Guardians a two-run lead in the seventh inning, when he took the first pitch from Paul Skenes deep to right field for a solo homer. It was Manzardo's fifth homer of the season, which already ties his total from the 2024 regular season. The 24-year-old is top 10 in the American League in both home runs and RBI (13), and he ranks 16th in slugging percentage (.500) to start the year.

  • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Grabbing seat Thursday

Manzardo is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore. Manzardo is just 1-for-14 at the dish over his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Getting day off versus lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals. • Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Homers early in win

Manzardo started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 6-1 win over the White Sox. Manzardo, who was recently moved into the cleanup spot, went yard in the first inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit. It was his fourth home run through 12 games, and Manzardo's 11 RBI leads the club. He made only six starts at first base in 2024 compared to 40 at DH, denying him 1B eligibility in more restrictive fantasy formats, and Thursday's game was his third start at the position in 2025. The Guardians' desire to manage the workload of 39-year-old Carlos Santana, Cleveland's primary first baseman, should result in Manzardo gaining some extra positional flexibility later this season.

The left-hander put the Guardians ahead 4-3 with a two-run homer off Angel Zerpa in the fourth inning before driving in two more runs with a triple in the 10th, the first of his MLB career. Manzardo already came into the season as a popular sleeper candidate after a strong showing in Spring Training. He slashed .234/.282/.421 with five homers and 15 RBI in 156 plate appearances as a rookie last year.
