  • Brendan Rodgers: Non-tendered by Rockies

The Rockies non-tendered Rodgers on Friday. Rodgers was one of the Rockies' more productive bats in 2024, slashing .267/.314/.407 with 54 RBI across 539 plate appearances. However, the team -- seemingly willing to give Aaron Schunk a look at second base -- will let Rodgers enter the open market after six seasons in Colorado.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Still out Sunday

Rodgers (hamstring) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Dodgers. Rodgers appeared off the bench in Saturday's game after being scratched from the lineup, but he'll remain out of the starting nine in the finale. Aaron Schunk will start at second base and bat eighth.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Hamstring issues return

Rodgers was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Dodgers due to left hamstring soreness. Rodgers missed two games earlier in the week due to left hamstring problems before returning to action Friday, and his injury will now cause him to sit down once again. Aaron Schunk will fill in as Colorado's second baseman and may be in line for another start Sunday if Rodgers is unable to play in the season finale.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Back in Colorado lineup

Rodgers (hamstring) will start at second base and bat sixth in Friday's game against the Dodgers. Rodgers missed each of the previous three contests with left hamstring tightness but has improved enough to give it a go in the series opener versus the Dodgers. After putting up a .936 OPS in August, Rodgers has cratered to a .496 OPS in September.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Out again Thursday

Rodgers (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cardinals. Rodgers has now missed three starts in a row with left hamstring tightness, though he had indicated previously he did not expect to face a long-term absence. Aaron Schunk will get another start at second base in Thursday's series finale.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Nursing hamstring injury

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with a left hamstring injury, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. Rodgers missed a couple starts earlier this month with right hamstring tightness, but it's apparently an injury to his other hamstring that will keep him out of the lineup Wednesday for the second day in a row. For his part, Rodgers doesn't seem too concerned about the injury, as he said he would be available off the bench for an at-bat, if needed. Aaron Schunk will cover the keystone Wednesday in Rodgers' stead.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Pair of hits Sunday

Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers. Rodgers had three hard hit balls in play and had a double that would've been a home run in 11 ballparks. Rodgers last homered Aug. 30 and has just five RBI in September while hitting .183 with a 36.4 percent strikeout rate through 18 games this month.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Dealing with hamstring tightness

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs due to right hamstring tightness, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. The injury will cost Rodgers a second straight start, but the Rockies don't seem to believe he's at risk of landing on the 10-day injured list. In fact, Lyons relays that the second baseman could be back in the lineup as soon as Monday's game against the Diamondbacks. Over the final two weeks of the season, the Rockies will play nine of their 12 games at hitter-friendly Coors Field, making Rodgers a more appealing fantasy option than usual if he's able to shake off the hamstring injury.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Scratched Saturday

Rodgers was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Cubs. The Rockies have not yet provided a reason for removing Rodgers from the starting nine, but more information should come in the near future. In the meantime, Aaron Schunk will step in to start at second base while batting ninth.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Not in Friday's lineup

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Milwaukee. Rodgers started the previous seven games but will receive a day off after batting .310 (9-for-29) with three homers during that stretch. Aaron Schunk will take over at second base and bat ninth in the series opener.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Cranks two homers

Rodgers went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, three total RBI and three total runs scored in Thursday's 12-8 loss to the Marlins. Rodgers got Colorado on the board with a solo shot off Valente Bellozo in the third inning before adding a two-run homer in the fourth. It's the first multi-homer game of the year for Rodgers, who'd been marred in a 3-for-24 slump coming into Thursday's contest. Overall, the 28-year-old second baseman has put together a solid campaign -- he's now slashing .274/.319/.419 with 12 homers, 48 RBI, 57 runs scored and one stolen base across 180 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Resting amid slump

Rodgers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. Rodgers is likely getting a veteran's rest day after he had started each of the Rockies' last 20 games. He owns an .818 OPS for August but has cooled off at the plate of late, going 3-for-24 with 11 strikeouts and no walks over his last six contests. Aaron Schunk will step in at second base for the slumping Rodgers.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Putting together strong August

Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Nationals on Wednesday. Rodgers accounted for Colorado's only run of the game and continued his surge in August. Across 17 games, he's hit .364 with three homers, 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. Even more impressive is that eight of those contests have come away from the hitter-friendly Coors Field.

The long ball extended the infielder's hitting streak to seven games, and he's had at least one hit in 11 of his past 12 contests. During the latter stretch, Rodgers is batting .391 (18-for-46) with two home runs, six doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored.

Overall, the 27-year-old second baseman is slashing .270/.313/.394 with seven homers, 41 runs scored and 33 RBI across 336 plate appearances this season.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Tallies seventh homer

Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Giants. Rodgers accounted for all of Colorado's offense with his seventh home run of the season. • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Goes yard in Friday's loss

Rodgers went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Mets. His seventh-inning shot off Sean Manaea kicked off a late rally for the Rockies that fell just short. It was Rodgers' first homer in July, and only his second extra-base hit -- the 27-year-old infielder is slashing just .209/.277/.302 through 11 games on the month with two RBI and five runs.
