Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Not starting Game 1
Rocchio isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
After going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in his last game, Rocchio will get a chance to regroup during the first half of Saturday's activities. Gabriel Arias will shift to shortstop as a result, opening up second base for Daniel Schneemann.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Pops third homer
Wilson went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.
The rookie shortstop got hold of a Sean Burke slider on the inner part of the plate to lead off the fifth inning with a solo shot. It was Wilson's third homer in 25 games to begin the season, an impressive showing considering he managed only seven home runs in 103 games across all levels in 2024. His ability to make contact is still the driving factor for his fantasy value, however -- Wilson is slashing .347/.354/.500 through 99 plate appearances with one steal, 14 RBI and 15 runs.

Jacob Amaya SS | CHW
White Sox's Jacob Amaya: Idle Friday
Amaya isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.
Amaya has been in a notable slump at the plate recently, going 0-for-13 over his last nine games and logging just three hits since the start of April. He'll give way to Brooks Baldwin at shortstop Friday, creating an opening in the lineup for Nick Maton to serve as Chicago's DH.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Out of Friday's lineup
Rocchio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.
The absence ends a stretch of five consecutive starts for Rocchio, who went 3-for-15 with a stolen base, three runs and one RBI during that stretch. Gabriel Arias will move to shortstop while Daniel Schneemann receives a start at the keystone.

Juan Brito SS | CLE
Guardians' Juan Brito: Out 8-to-12 weeks after surgery
Brito will be sidelined 8-to-12 weeks after having surgery Friday to repair a high-grade ligament sprain in his right thumb, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Brito suffered the injury last week while sliding into a base at Triple-A Columbus. The 23-year-old infielder had been off to a nice start this season with Columbus, slashing .291/.406/.491 with two home runs, four steals and a 10:11 K:BB.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Extends hit streak in doubleheader
Witt went 2-for-8 with a double, three runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Thursday's doubleheader sweep of the Rockies.
Witt's hit streak is now up to 16 games -- he's gone 20-for-58 (.345) with a .938 OPS in that span. The star shortstop has boosted his slash line to .303/.377/.465 with two homers, 10 RBI, 18 runs scored and eight stolen bases through his first 114 plate appearances this year.

Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: First multi-hit effort this season
Neto went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Thursday's win over the Pirates.
It was the first multi-hit effort of the year by Neto, who also totaled a season-high seven bases Thursday in his sixth game of the campaign. Despite hitting just .238 over his first 21 at-bats, the infielder is already up to two doubles and two homers with four RBI. Neto missed the first few weeks of the campaign while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, but he should be a strong source of power and speed at the shortstop position for fantasy managers going forward. Neto clubbed 23 homers and stole 30 bases over 155 games last year.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Sitting again Thursday
Walls is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.
Walls will not start for a second consecutive game Thursday, though he was able to go 1-for-2 after entering Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter. Jose Caballero will draw another start at shortstop and bat seventh.
-
Jacob Amaya SS | CHW
White Sox's Jacob Amaya: Getting afternoon off
Amaya is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.
Amaya will give way to Bobby Dalbec at shortstop after starting in each of the previous five contests. Though he's a dependable defender, Amaya has been one of the majors' least productive hitters this season, slashing .087/.120/.109 over 50 plate appearances.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Belts first homer of year
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Red Sox.
His three-run homer off Sean Newcomb in the fourth inning was the big blow on the night for the M's. It was Crawford's first long ball of the season, continuing a hot stretch that has seen the shortstop bat .351 (13-for-37) over his last 11 games with seven runs and 10 RBI.
