Swanson (forearm) will report to Single-A Dunedin to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Swanson has been sidelined for the first month of the season due to carpal tunnel syndrome in his forearm, but he's now been cleared for game action in the minors. The right-hander will likely require a handful of appearances before being ready to make his season debut for the Blue Jays.

The Mariners optioned Saucedo to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.

The left-hander was called up by Seattle on Saturday and will return to Tacoma after firing a scoreless inning during the 14-0 victory. Saucedo has given up four earned runs in his four major-league outings this year and is unlikely to fill more than a middle-relief role if he receives another look with the Mariners.

The Rangers optioned Garabito to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

The right-hander was called up by Texas on Thursday but will return to Triple-A without making an appearance in the majors. Garabito gave up eight earned runs over eight innings during his previous stint with the Rangers this year.

The Astros activated Ort (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Sunday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The right-hander will take the roster spot of Forrest Whitley, who was placed on the IL due to a knee sprain. Ort has been sidelined since the start of spring training but is ready to join the Astros after allowing two earned runs with a 5:5 K:BB in seven minor-league rehab appearances.

Whitley was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a left knee sprain, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The right-hander was activated from the injured list last weekend after missing the first few weeks of the season with a bone bruise in the same knee, but he felt something was off while playing catch Saturday and is now back on the shelf after making just one appearance. A return timeline could come into focus Monday once Whitley is further evaluated.

The Mariners selected Evans' contract from Triple-A Tacoma ahead of his start against the Marlins on Sunday.

The 23-year-old gets a favorable matchup for his big-league debut after posting a 3.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 23:4 K:BB in his first five starts of the year at Triple-A. Logan Gilbert sustained an elbow strain Friday and joined George Kirby (shoulder) on the injured list, so Evans should be able to get multiple turns through the rotation with a decent showing in his debut.

Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Weaver will "get a lot" of the Yankees' save chances moving forward due to Devin Williams being removed from the closer role, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

Williams' disastrous start to the campaign culminated in him allowing three runs Friday for his first blown save of the season, bringing his ERA to 11.25 and prompting the Yankees to make a change. Weaver was dominant in the closer role late last year and will now reclaim the job, at least until Williams is back on track. Weaver has carried that dominance into 2025 with a 0.62 ERA and 13:5 K:BB across 13 scoreless innings.

Manager Aaron Boone announced Sunday that Williams has been removed from the closer role "for right now," Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

The writing was on the wall after Williams blew his first save of the season Friday against Toronto, which was the second straight appearance in which he allowed three earned runs. The right-hander has yet to truly look like himself in 10 outings with the Yankees and has an 11.25 ERA and 8:7 K:BB across eight innings. New York presumably plans to return Williams to the closer job at some point this year, but he'll need to straighten the ship in a lesser role before getting that opportunity. Luke Weaver, who took over as the Yankees' closer down the stretch last season, has yet to allow a run through 11 outings this year and should get the bulk of the save chances moving forward.

Church is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Round Rock with an oblique injury, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

It was reported April 22 that he would be shut down for 7-to-10 days. Church was optioned to Triple-A on April 16 after walking more batters (six) than he struck out (five) in 4.2 innings with the big club. The 24-year-old relief pitching prospect showed roughly the same velocity on his pitches as in 2024, using his 87-mph slider slightly more than his 96-mph fastball. He still has a chance to figure into the late innings in a year or two.

The Yankees recalled De Los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to serve as the 27th player for Sunday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

The right-hander will temporarily join the big club as bullpen depth following Saturday's postponement. De Los Santos has given up one earned run over 8.1 innings for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year, though he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023, when he posted a 3.33 ERA in 22 outings with Pittsburgh.
