Summary
Joshua Simon is an H-back-style tight end with a massive catch radius and huge hands, making him a reliable target in the short and intermediate passing game. Though his gait is a bit unorthodox, he moves well for his size and is an above-average athlete. However, he’s not a refined route runner and struggles to consistently separate with technique alone. Simon excels after the catch with impressive twitch, contact balance and vision, making him a dangerous YAC threat, particularly on horizontal routes and designed touches. While he has the speed to threaten the seam against zone coverage, he doesn't consistently win vertically against man coverage. His hands are generally reliable, but he lacks high-level leaping ability and struggles with difficult downfield grabs. Ball security is a concern due to a history of fumbling. As a blocker, Simon isn’t a mauler but is effective in space, holding up well in pass protection though not a dominant presence in the run game.

Simon has signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Simon joins the Falcons as a UDFA out of South Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 239-pound tight end had 519 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2024. He'll compete for a depth role in camp behind Kyle Pitts.
