Draft Scouting Report
Jack Bech was on an impressive track -- a three-star prospect and freshman starter on an LSU team with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. – when he saw his opportunities fall off as a sophomore to the aforementioned receivers. He transferred to TCU where he really didn’t break out until his senior season, leading the Horned Frogs with 62 catches, 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns (all career-bests). Bech looks the part of a physical perimeter receiver but has plenty of experience lining up across the formation and running every typical route imaginable. What he lacks in deep speed he makes up for with size, hands, short-area quickness and effort. He’s a high-character receiver with room to develop further.
- 2024: Senior Bowl MVP after catching the game-winning touchdown a month after his brother died in New Orleans terrorist attack
- 2024: Second-team All-Big 12 (62 receptions, 1,034 yards, nine touchdowns)
- Very good strength and balance: Bech has a rocked-up musculature, played with the heart of a Tiger and was tough to bring down. He measured at 6-foot-1 ¼ and 214 pounds at the Senior Bowl but played much larger than that. His 75-inch wingspan emphasized his catch radius.
- Excellent hands and tracking skills: Only four drops over four seasons (200 targets) and just one drop in 2024. Bech also was fantastic at reeling in deep balls as well as off-target passes.
- Very good quickness: Well-practiced footwork and loose hips helped Bech master turning back to the quarterback on hitch routes in effectively two steps. His ability to stop and change directions was also impressive.
- Solid speed: Bech won’t win many track races and will get caught from behind. He had just 5.3 yards after catch per reception in 2024, keeping him out of the top-100 wide receiver qualifiers. It’s worth mentioning he did break out a second gear when downfield throws were in the air.
- Struggled with man-to-man coverage: In his breakout year, Bech had much lower efficiency, including a much lower yards after catch per reception average, against man coverage compared to zone. His footwork is good in some aspects, but he could be a real handful with improved technique both off the snap and in his routes. A good coach will make it happen and take his game to the next level against all coverages.
- Functional strength needs work: Bech is jacked and is tough to bring to the ground, but his run blocking was inconsistent. His overall physicality before the catch also needs to be addressed.
- Bench press: 19 reps
- Vertical jump: 34.5 inches
- 20-yard shuttle run: 4.21 seconds
- Broad jump: 10 feet, 5 inches
- 3-cone drill: 6.84 seconds

Raiders' Jack Bech: Plucked by Raiders in second round
The Raiders selected Bech (knee) in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 58th overall.
Bech started out at LSU splitting time between receiver and tight end before settling in as a full-time receiver at TCU beginning in 2023. He brings tight-end-level physicality to the wide receiver position at 6-foot and 214 pounds, with film that routinely shows him running through tackles. Bech took off in 2024 with more receiving yards (1,034) and touchdowns (nine) than he had in his previous three years combined. A lot of targets in the Raiders' offense are allocated to Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers, but there's still room for a third pass catcher. Bech has the talent to assume that role, especially considering Las Vegas' relative lack of competition for him currently on the roster.
