Vanderbilt vs. ETSU: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Vanderbilt vs. ETSU football game
Game Recap
The Vanderbilt Commodores were the 38 to nothing winners over the ETSU Buccaneers when they previously met in November of 2019. On Saturday? They had no such luck. The game between them was not particularly close, with the Commodores falling 23-3. This was hardly the result they or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 21 points over ETSU heading into this contest.
ETSU can attribute much of their success to RB Quay Holmes, who picked up 149 yards on the ground on 23 carries.
Special teams collected 11 points for the Buccaneers. K Tyler Keltner delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The matchup pushed the Commodores down to 0-1 and pulled ETSU up to the reverse at 1-0.
Vanderbilt will take on the Colorado State Rams at 10 p.m. ET next Saturday at Canvas Stadium. Like Vanderbilt, Colorado State is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 42-23 to the S. Dakota St. Jackrabbits. The Buccaneers will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Virginia-Wise Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. ET.
