Texas vs. Texas Tech Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas vs. Texas Tech football game
The Texas Tech Red Raiders haven't won a contest against the Texas Longhorns since Nov. 24 of 2017, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Saturday. The Red Raiders and Texas will face off in a Big 12 battle at noon ET at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field. Both teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Everything went Texas Tech's way against the FIU Panthers last week as they made off with a 54-21 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
Meanwhile, Texas got themselves on the board against the Rice Owls last week, but Rice never followed suit. Texas claimed a resounding 58 to nothing victory over the Owls at home. With the Longhorns ahead 44 to nothing at the half, the game was all but over already. RB Bijan Robinson had a stellar game for Texas as he rushed for three TDs and 127 yards on 13 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Robinson's 62-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter.
The Red Raiders are expected to lose this next one by 7.5. Those interested in the spread don't face an easy decision since they are 2-0 ATS and Texas 2-0.
Texas Tech is now a perfect 3-0 while Texas sits at 2-1. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Texas Tech is stumbling into the matchup with the 166th most passing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 236 on average. The Longhorns have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 184th worst in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, with 188.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
