Texas State vs. Baylor updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas State vs. Baylor football game
Game Recap
The Baylor Bears were hampered by 89 penalty yards against the Texas State Bobcats on Saturday, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. Baylor came out on top against Texas State by a score of 29-20.
The Bears can attribute much of their success to LB Abram Smith, who rushed for two TDs and 118 yards on 19 carries. Baylor's S JT Woods got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the first quarter into a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Bobcats, but they got scores from RB Jahmyl Jeter and WR Marcell Barbee.
The matchup pushed Texas State down to 0-1 and pulled Baylor up to the reverse at 1-0.
Baylor will take on the Texas Southern Tigers at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Texas Southern took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Baylor's good fortune. As for Texas State, they will go up against the FIU Panthers at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at Riccardo Silva Stadium.
