After constant struggles on the road, the West Virginia Mountaineers have finally found some success away from home. They netted a 29-17 win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. The team accrued 20 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
RB Leddie Brown was the offensive standout of the contest for West Virginia, rushing for three TDs and 111 yards on 24 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Brown has had all year. More help came courtesy of LB Josh Chandler-Semedo, who was good for nine tackles.
Special teams collected 11 points for the Mountaineers. K Casey Legg delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
No one had a standout game offensively for TCU, but WR Taye Barber led the way with one touchdown.
West Virginia's win brought them up to 3-4. The defeat dropped TCU's record to an identical 3-4.
West Virginia will take on the Iowa State Cyclones at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. The Mountaineers will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 17 points per game. As for the Horned Frogs, they will go up against the Kansas State Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. K-State is 2-1 after wins this season, and TCU is 1-2 after losses.
