Old Dominion vs. App. State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Old Dominion vs. Appalachian State football game
App. State is 3-0 against Old Dominion since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The App. State Mountaineers will head out on the road to face off against the Old Dominion Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. ET at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. Old Dominion does have the home-field advantage, but App. State is expected to win by six points.
The point spread may have favored App. State last Tuesday, but the final result did not. They fell just short of Coastal Carolina by a score of 27-24.
Joey Aguilar put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Old Dominion gave up the first points two weeks ago, but they didn't let that get them down. They snuck past Southern Miss with a 17-13 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Old Dominion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keshawn Wicks, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Old Dominion also got a significant boost from Kadarius Calloway, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
App. State's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Old Dominion, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
Old Dominion is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They might be worth a quick bet since they've sitting on a five game streak of covering the spread when playing as the underdog.
App. State was able to grind out a solid win over Old Dominion when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 27-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for App. State since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
