LSU vs. Florida Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the LSU vs. Florida football game
The LSU Tigers fans better hope the squad plays one heck of a game on Saturday as the odds are decidedly against them. LSU and the Florida Gators will face off in an SEC battle at noon ET at Tiger Stadium. Florida will be strutting in after a win while the Tigers will be stumbling in from a defeat.
A victory for LSU just wasn't in the stars last week as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 42-21 walloping at the Kentucky Wildcats' hands. LSU was down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Tyrion Davis-Price, who rushed for two TDs and 147 yards on 22 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Davis-Price has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season. Davis-Price's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Meanwhile, Florida got themselves on the board against the Vanderbilt Commodores last week, but Vanderbilt never followed suit. The Gators took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42 to nothing victory over the Commodores. With Florida ahead 21 to nothing at the half, the game was all but over already. It was another big night for their QB Emory Jones, who passed for four TDs and 273 yards on 22 attempts in addition to picking up 40 yards on the ground. Near the top of the highlight reel was Jones' 61-yard TD bomb to RB Dameon Pierce in the third quarter.
The Tigers are now 3-3 while Florida sits at 4-2. Two numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: LSU is 151st worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown four on the season. The Gators have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 237th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown eight on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
